"The first guest on Gavin Newsom's podcast was Charlie Kirk" is more than enough for me to say "absolutely not" to any suggestion Newsom play any role in the future of the Democratic Party. People like him are the past, the failures, the ones who got us here.

French Senator Claude Malhuret: "Washington has become Nero’s court, with an incendiary emperor, submissive courtiers and a jester high on ketamine... We were at war with a dictator, we are now at war with a dictator backed by a traitor."

Also, this happened when Bruce was 38. Not a misguided kid making a bad call in his youth, 38. A fully formed adult. Also, the made-up thing about a "Hispanic group" wanting to attack him is very ugly and racist. That part really, really bothers me. Again, he was 38.

Bruce Harrell used the right-wing playbook when it came to campaigning and crime. Talked up how scary it is, talked big about fixing it, then used this as a cover to keep taxes low for corporate backers. No surprise, the results were terrible. #voices4victory www.theurbanist.org/2025/03/04/o...

It’s surreal that I have to go to a foreign leader to hear someone describe the full derangement and malignancy of my own president in plain language, because our own “free press” and opposition leaders won’t do it. Bravo Trudeau

trump take nest egg

hooolllly shit. this story. read it in full. one thing that struck me as weird about this story is the narrative about getting death threats... from advocates who wanted to appoint a public housing resident to a board instead of Harrell, an affluent attorney.

Mayor Bruce Harrell: -Threatens pregnant lady w/a gun, over PARKING SPOT -Uses influence to protect his favored men's club from investigation into wage theft -Stands by Police Chief w/harassment & bullying charges -Waits to fire rapist on staff until charges are referred to county prosecutor

I just did this at vote.escvote.com/REI/?link_id=1, it took one minute.

FYI, Seattle City Light imports power from British Columbia (not Ontario) much of it at favorable rates negotiated through the High Ross Treaty. About 40% of our power is generated through city-owned hydro projects. Much of the rest is from BPA owned hydro in the Columbia River Basin.

Now we know why Bruce Harrell said "And I would ask that I don’t want to be judged for anything 33 years ago" when defending Ed Murray from allegations of sex abuse. Seattle deserves better leadership than Bruce Harrell. www.realchangenews.org/news/2021/09...

This is what the coach of the Washington Generals says in the locker room before taking the court against the Harlem Globetrotters.

An underrated part of this video is you can watch the Dow go down in real time in the bottom right

old Soviet joke for our times: Guy stops by the newsstand every day, scans the front page, doesn’t buy the paper. One day the vendor asks what he’s up to. Guy says: “looking for an obituary.” Vendor says “those are towards the back of the paper, comrade.” Guy says: “not the one I’m looking for.”

Lmao whatever's going on in the white house today seems to involve crypto people directly puppeteering trump, to the point that they're now like "you forgot bitcoin! put that in!"

GUN SHOWS and CHURCHES and BILLIONAIRES. If you don't think the "center left" is a fucking joke, a grift, and the reason we got Trump and Musk 2, you absolutely should be nowhere near the fucking government. People are pissed. And not because Dems aren't showing up to gun shows

These people shouldn’t be able to go outside without getting pelted with garbage

DEMOCRATS: You are committing a historic error right now. The federal government is collapsing and you are paralyzed. You seem unable to even address half the stuff that's happening because it does fit into your pre-fab vision of what good political rhetoric sounds like. You are failing America.

I wonder how many clean public restrooms the $2,000,000 Saka is using to kill Curby would buy us?

It’s been a long day, but in short, bullies ain’t shit! I don’t care what title you hold! This isn’t some long gone reality tv show or failed casino; it is war! How dare a draft dodging dumb dupe humiliate an ally & berate a brave man who has actually been on a battlefield for his people?!

This is a great idea conceptually except for the fact that you get people like Rep. Kim Schrier who vote for the Laken Riley Act and a bunch of defenders of the status quo on health care.

Seems like why the meeting imploded was more like "Trump is senile and has lost all impulse control and JD Vance is pickled in online fash propaganda" www.semafor.com/article/02/2...

She's a literal Republican who switched parties DURING the first Trump admin & she's been endorsed by Chris Gregoire, Gary Locke, Adam Smith, and a majority of council. (good chance she doesn't even make it out of the primary this time tho)

media pretends to take conservative promises not to do this sort of thing seriously, then when it happens doesnt treat it like a betrayal because *they* knew it was going to happen and surely the electorate who they failed to inform also expected it

gonna be an interesting election season if the libs start to realize that the council president & mayor up for reelection are more closely aligned with the Trump admin (on big tech, civil liberties, zoning, workers rights, police non-accountability, etc) than the national Democratic platform

Donald Trump is embarrassing the United States on the world stage. We are a country that stands up to dictators and fights for democracy. Minnesota stands firmly with our allies in Ukraine.

TREASON is the word, Democrats. Trump, Musk, and Vance and their crowd of shapeless toadies are engaged in a campaign of treason and sabotage against this nation and its founding principles.

Trump and Vance's behavior is disgraceful and dangerous. They're helping our enemies, hurting our friends, and weakening our security. Putin’s bloody, unjustified invasion has left hundreds of thousands dead and is killing more every say. This is a shameful moment in our history.

Rape is a central pillar of the GOP

The Washington Post and LA Times editorial pages have gone full MAGA, MSNBC has purged all of its anti-Trump anchors, and Twitter is owned by a literal Nazi. Here's why liberal media bias is still a problem.

Wow, a whopping $70,000! WA’s Governor sure has his priorities in order, pinching pennies rather than making the case to raise billions of dollars for schools and other vital services by taxing the rich.

Some news: Media for Informed Communties, led by @moharrell.bsky.social and me, has acquired KVRU 105.7 FM. Connecting within community is the way forward, and @kvru.bsky.social, an independent, non-profit community radio station, will be a hub for that connection. Build with us!👇🏾

On 22 February 1943, three young Germans, members of the White Rose Society -- Hans Scholl, Sophie Scholl, and Christoph Probst -- were guillotined by the Nazis for distributing leaflets speaking out against the crimes of the Third Reich. Their bravery, and their cause, will not be forgotten.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Each day, we see more and more evidence of the deeply corrupting influence of big $ in our national politics. That's why we’re committed to a people-powered campaign...

Why isn't Seattle on this list? These research cuts could destroy our local economy...and harm people. Mayor Harrell must be too busy wondering why his poll numbers are down to do his job. Seattle deserves leaders who will fight for us!

Of the Chiefs of Staff, vice chiefs of staff, and judge advocates general of the three branches, Trump fired all the women and Black people.

Seattle should be on this list! What does it say about our City Attorney’s Office that Olympia and Spokane joined Boston on this amicus brief but Seattle did not?

If you’re wondering why I declined to talk to the NYTimes, then you haven’t been following my account for very long. They bear a direct responsibility for the current situation we find ourselves in, and I responded by laying out my position and that I would only talk to @jamellebouie.net
