Everyone get on this hype train and pre-order ASAP. You don't ever want to miss out on Lyndsey Croal's writing.

Just over 3 months to go!! ✨️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thanks to @sketchesbyboze.bsky.social for reminding me of this Ursula K. le Guin quote.

Hey friends, it's been a minute! At some point the social media sabbatical has to end and I'm starting by dipping my toes back into BlueSky. Gonna take me a minute to rebuild what I had on Twitter but at least I won't feel icky when I log on. In the meantime, writing continues. . . #writingcommunity

Live look at me finishing the sixth draft of my manuscript:

The team shares a few favorites of 2024, with my special shoutout to @samflynnwrites.bsky.social's debut! @timberghostpress.bsky.social

even when republicans lose the press treat them like they represent america’s real majority so it is no surprise that they would talk about a narrow victory like it’s 1964 and democrats just got goldwatered

A novella written in the vein of Dean Koontz or John Saul, The Mystery of the Pale King by Sam Flynn is an eerie read with an impactful story. You can read my full review here: fanfiaddict.com/review-the-m...

This made my day! Thank you Arina spreading the good word about The Mystery of the Pale King. Check it out along with the other brilliant books from last year recommended by @grimdarkmagazine.bsky.social

This is, or should be, a big deal -- Ann Telnaes, an absolute legend, quitting WaPo due to censorship of a cartoon criticizing billionaires anntelnaes.substack.com/p/why-im-qui...

GIVEAWAY I accidentally bought 2 copies of this Luna Press novella (never thought that'd happen to me, but it did lol!), and would love to give it away to another reader/reviewer/author! Reply with a favorite read and I'll pop you into a random generator. Open worldwide.

Beyond honored my novella The Mystery of the Pale King (via @timberghostpress.bsky.social) is one of @grimdarkmagazine.bsky.social's Best Reads of 2024. Grimdark is a bucket list publication for me and to be recognized by them is surreal and incredible.

Most local libraries can help with government paperwork too. My mom was the city business librarian and she helped countless small businesses do demographic research, get registered, and connected to the city small business council. All for free. Check out your library! Talk to a librarian!

We had no idea at the time how important the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake would be to the next 20 years of DC superheroes.

My first novelette, The Space Person, is out now! Thank you so much to @timberghostpress.bsky.social for making it all happen! I hope you all enjoy my little sci-fi horror baby!

Today is the day! Happy Book Birthday for The Space Person by Catherine Kuo! It's a short little novelette, but it packs a big punch! Check it out if space horror is your thang! www.timberghostpress.com/the-space-pe...

We don't learn from history because we haven't experienced those events, and humans don't learn well from being told things, we have to experience them for ourselves. History is the parent telling their kid not to make the same mistakes; humanity is the kid certain that their parent knows nothing.

Woohoo @timberghostpress.bsky.social writers represent!

Thank you to @specawards.bsky.social for this unexpected honor! Very grateful to be nominated among so many great authors.

Congratulations to @samflynnwrites.bsky.social! His book, THE MYSTERY OF THE PALE KING, has been nominated for the 2025 @specawards.bsky.social by @timberghostpress.bsky.social. #SSBA #BookTSky #indiepress #bookawards #fantasy 💙📚

Popping out of social media hibernation to say I may have just written one of the most fucked up scenes in my writing career and I couldn't be prouder of myself.

Anyone want to work for me tonight? #DragonAgeVeilguard

As an author, I cannot stress this enough. And as a reader, I see this as an investment in my own reading future...if I love something I want more from that author! And publishers will only give authors new deals if people buy the book!

Full series on the existential stakes of next week's election is live on my website and Patreon. Other parts: II: Property, Slavery and Roman Law III: The White Supremacist Project IV: The Lies We Tell Ourselves V: Lull of Paradise, Promise of Revelation VI: Good Night, and Good Luck #Election2024

wow Bezos really went there

Want some gritty, cosmic, flintlock fantasy that maybe hits a little too close to home? Then what are you waiting for? www.timberghostpress.com/pale-king.ht... @samflynnwrites.bsky.social

October is almost over and what better way to close out spooky season than with a double dollop of #flintlockfantasy and #cosmichorror? My novella The Mystery of the Pale King has both! Inspired by the legend of #GillesdeRais, #TheKinginYellow, #MasqueoftheRedDeath, #BloodMeridian and more.

What great company to be a part of. Thanks Arina!

A view that masculinity is defined by domination and humiliation of others is bad for everyone, including cisgender men

amongst other reasons I object to it, doom is a luxury that very few of the people I love can indulge in

“Embarrassingly enough, I like this country. But everything good about it has been the product of centuries of people who had no reason to hope for better but chose to believe that better things were possible… to build this fragile thing called democracy.” — Alexandra Petri in the Washington Post

really can't overstate how much the vibe on twitter is nonstop harris dooming/trump triumphalism, completely independent of the actual state of the race

The feedback and questions from readers post-release of my flintlock fantasy/cosmic horror novella The Mystery of the Pale King inspired me to share my research into American history that influenced the book. Check out an excerpt from my new essay. sam-flynn.com/original-sin...

The Mystery of the Pale King (2024)

This is so fucking good The Onion is so back

a lot of mainstream reporters either don’t see the significance of these associations or don’t care and don’t seem them as a big deal

Check out my interview with The Post about all things The Mystery of the Pale King. This was a real full circle moment for me as a former OU journalism student.

The past month since the publication of my debut The Mystery of the Pale King has been everything I'd hoped it would be. The one question I keep getting is if there will be a sequel? The more I dwelled on it, the more real it became: Dweller in Darkness.

Wrote this yesterday in my current WIP, similarly picking up on Emily's astute observation.
