Seems effective to me, what does he think a town hall is for?

Wasn’t ikea that bought the rights!

Today in 1986, the great Florence Halop (“Night Court,” “St. Elsewhere”) calmly helped Wendy M. of Southern California win $25k on Super Password. Sadly, Florence would pass away 5 months later at the age of 63.

The Trump post office takeover story has this extraordinary line: "according to six people familiar with the plans, who spoke on the condition of anonymity out of fear of reprisals." That shit sounds like it's out of some totalitarian regime, not the United States. wapo.st/4309Ysp

Just on the hunt for waste and fraud . . .

This makes a lot of sense to me.

Where are the other Democrats? Why aren't they all doing things like this?

This is incredible reporting that must shock the conscience of each and every one of us.

DEI is the most popular thing in this list lmao

Today marks 83 years since Executive Order 9066 forced over 120,000 Japanese Americans into concentration camps. Photographer Dorothea Lange was hired by the government to document the forced relocation of these families. She made images of life before, during, and after the camps.

Today is National Day of Remembrance for the 120,000 Japanese Americans who were put into internment/concentration camps by an Executive Order. This is a very real part of US history, and I can only hope that we never repeat it again, but it feels, more than before, a real possibility again.

Welcome to the resistance Bezos.

Where is the sea, I feel like I need a walk . . .

Bless you Birdie!!

“Sentry mode did not activate”

Anthony Gardner's (L) brother Harvey (R) was killed in the North Tower on 9/11. Recently, Anthony has worked for the World Trade Center Health Program. On Saturday, he got a termination notice, part of what 9/11 community advocates say is an "inhumane" 20% staffing reduction.

You’d expect Sepinwall to go for the four miles deep but perfect cut instead he he just gives you perfect. That’s why he’s Sepinwall.

Hard times call for stupid food. Here's a frito pie and a margarita

Here’s the pitch: They hire back the accidentally-fired bird flu folks *and* the accidentally-fired nuclear security guys BUT they put them in each other’s jobs — also by accident! It’s TRADING PLACES meets FAILSAFE meets CONTAGION — and maybe also FREAKY FRIDAY! Need a title.

Jesus christ, was I giving him ideas?

I mean she's not doing herself any favors on appeal but holy shit . . . is that parenthetical possibly true?

"at risk for seeking an abortion" i want to walk into the sea

“For Nancy Hastings, the face of the federal government is the young man who picks her up every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:45 a.m. to drive her to dialysis... Then suddenly, in late January, word came that he was gone. With the Trump administration’s spending freeze…he was laid off.”

This bad.

Recycle, sounds woke.

Tip for hockey media folks claiming to have even a shred of dignity left: Instead of asking US players what they think of Canadian fans booing their anthem, ask them how they feel about their president repeatedly suggesting that Canada should cease to even fucking exist. Try that just once.

They’re not just malicious, they’re incompetent. DOGE has so far disrupted everything in government bar the deficit "Outflows from the Treasury have actually risen since January 28th, when Musk first claimed DOGE was saving the federal government $1bn a day." www.economist.com/finance-and-...

Goes so hard until “I’m from Long Beach” 😭 #LakewoodStrong

There is one true genius operating in the arts today.

I don’t know what a “physics package” is but I’m guessing it’s real bad.

I see people grousing about #SNL50 being too soon after SNL 40. Right? I felt same way when my grandma turned 100. Siblings wanted a whole affair and Im like, "She JUST turned 90 ten years ago. You were there!" There were number-shaped balloons and a special photo album and everything.

Ah yes law clerks notoriously lacking in insight about the judges they work with . . .

Cheers to 18 years of The Pug

The wild thing is Hochul is hated by all 30 Democrats outside of New York who know who she is and she’s been given a gift to be the first Governor with the opportunity to really get in the ring with Trump. Remove Adams. Take on Trump. Become a hero. Have a political future. Take the gift.

Holy shit. This is fucking nuts.

NEW: At least three more DOJ Public Integrity Unit senior officials have resigned after meeting with Emil Bove on the Eric Adams case. Five in Public Integrity overall. That’s six officials who resigned, triple the number that happened during the Saturday Night Massacre.

I mean neither of those work. Feeding my cats?

It’s a big goddam problem.

It is so insane! I spent two years investigating W’s questionable firing of 7 US attorneys including a a major exec priv litigation (decided against the exec in early rounds) and yet that was so much more reasonable/possibly lawful than 90% of what la happening right now!

It is publication day for The Far Edges of the Known World! If you love ancient history, global history, unusual stories from the past, or if you want some nice historical escapism about life at the edges of the ancient world - pick up a copy today! #AncientBlueSky #BookSky #Skystorians

Thank you, DOGE, for clearly visualizing what incredible value the American people get from their national parks. 17,700 permanent employees making an average of $81,000 a year serving 325 million visitors annually. Is there a better value in the entire federal government?
