Not so much related to musk but moreso another way that this has never been about acknowledging hypocrisy or upholding “purity” but about the ways that magical thinking is a corollary of totalistic (and totalitarian) acceptance.

I’ll add that one of the prominent narratives is that Trump is a “baby Christian” and that in their world, this means making a lot of mistakes but ultimately remaining in God’s grace. This story allows them to relentlessly make room for abominable behavior bc it fits w/in their salvation framework.

the money we’ve given Ukraine is from used military supplies that we send to them. The money counted is what is used to resupply the U.S. we’re not handing Zelenskyy a check ffs. No I’m not pro-military or pro-war. But the idea that Ukraine can opt out of this is a false choice.

Extraction is part of colonial violence, and we’ve been watching it unfold in Ukraine, Gaza, Syria, here in the U.S., etc. I’ve been screeching about the interconnectedness of these struggles. uniting in solidarity against them can help us think better about resistance to these absolute GHOULS.

Watching trump work with putin to carve up Ukrainian territory so that the U.S and Russia can capitalize on their resources while also parroting russian propaganda and disinformation about Ukraine has felt horrific (no, Ukraine did not start this war. I hope y’all were awake in 2014 and 2022).

Visible in diet culture, fashion, repro rights, marriage, & now I’m thinking about sports. If sport is a domain that controls women’s bodies via the rhetoric of discipline, then insisting on the inclusion & worth of trans athletes threatens a system that demands and benefits from women’s obedience.

I feel like I have so many thoughts that I want to piece together. But just to say I’m thinking about how cis women, esp those raised under evangelical authoritarianism, are trained to uphold patriarchy though “disciplining” their bodies- in the service of giving men unearned authority.

All share a belief that a small group of people have been chosen to survive the catastrophes they are deliberately deepening.
It's a vision of the Rapture, sometimes religious but often secular.
We need to understand the story they are telling so that we can battle it with own. More soon
