They’re a tough audience, Thursday. You should feel only a little bad.

*Sigh* The release notes for Monday have warned of that on every patch for the last two decades…

For real. If I played what I already have to the extent I would prefer, it would take me at least a decade, if not two. Which means the way I thought about games fitting in my life just doesn't work in any conceivable way now.

ā€˜Long Live Evil’ by Sarah Rees Brennan is my favorite out of the last year or so. Just hilarious twists and turns as a pretty normal modern day girl has to live up to her new role as the flamboyant evil schemer of a fantasy court. šŸ˜‡

There is beauty in persistence.

What is this? Are you fueling some kind of cognitive dissonance engine?

"Do you remember the day we came across that completely whacked out bear in the woods that was staring off into space?" "I could never forget it! ...And didn't you propose around then?"

Misread that a bit and I definitely started wondering about the six sequels to Redshirts. Seemed like an awful lot to hang on that story premise.

And you’d think a peak higher than all Colorado’s 14ers would catch all the interest here. šŸ™ƒ

I remember colleagues complaining like, ā€œCome on, people. It’s live theater. At least try to dress up a little. You can do better than jeans!ā€ I think it’s fair to say our state fashion is perpetually in casual athleisure mode. I guess the positive framing of the above is ā€œapproachableā€?

"Fridayyyyy, why are you so certain it's snakes?"

I have been wondering when that need would come singing out into a thread on Bluesky. šŸ™‚The tip of this iceberg is wild, indeed! Cheers for sharing. šŸ„‚

Whenever I see stories about invasive species spreading these days, I wind up imagining something like the ants’ spokesperson screaming, ā€œWe learned it from yooouuu!!!!!ā€ 🫠

If you find the place that sells those perfect dresses, please share. I’d take a Honeybee Inn moment for a soulmate.

Well, this just has me suspicious now. If there’s any day that demonstrates prudence and common sense, it’s not Friday.

It’s entertainment, right? Soooo…. this is an expression of enjoyment occurring? Is this what your joy looks like? šŸ˜‚

Here is the thread that alerted me to make time to go see Sinners and I will also attest to it. That is a special work of cinema.

Why this came together in my head now, I’ll never know. So. Zagreus. Three syllables. Fits not too badly into Queen’s song about Flash Gordon. šŸ˜‚ Zaggggg-Re-Uss! Ah-ahhh!

I wanted to say you could compare it to bigger cat, like a tiger… then I checked the weight and my guess was quite very wrong. But! You -could- compare it to a Capybara! ~You’ve unleashed your inner capybara and set it free into the world. šŸ™ƒ

I remember laughing so much within seconds of RegƩ-Jean Page coming onto the screen. Every nuance, every detail of his performance just screams paladin. The way he stands! The way he moves! The way he looks at something! With every gesture, there's a billboard behind him flashing -Paladin!!!-

My thoughts, exactly. ā€œListen. Strange men walking on rooftops is no basis for a system of government.ā€

Was this message sent from the alien ship just before you exited signal range?

I thought that I had a couple suggestions that would be close, but now that I'm double checking, I doubt they hit the mark. But they might still be interesting in an adjacent direction. (Kainga: Seeds of Civilization or TFM: The First Men.)

Gonna be cleaning this one up all week…

Yes, be chill, Friday. Keep being chill. Don’t do whatever it is you’re thinking about doing next.

I saw Alistair Reynolds mentioned twice in here, but not specifically his Revenger series. That one exists in the ruins of 5-7 prior technological peaks and collapses. Amazing texture on the worlds.

Is it taking the metaphor too far to say the first trap was picking the cart that only has three wheels? 😁

in some way ā€˜Trinket Puncher’ really tickles my mind.
comment in response to post
I would be quite into that premise, but I’ve also come to the conclusion that I’ll probably be into most of the projects you’ll get up to in the future so, don’t take that as a reliable sign, I’d guess. šŸ˜…

Very interesting. What is the/your method for getting the covers into the book?
comment in response to post
I know what it means, but I keep having to think around that being the On-My-Way universe. Something about the notion also amuses me.

That sounds like the kind of question Bret Devereaux ā€œrent-a-sageā€ would field on here. And potentially has if you dig through his blog.

Thinking about the next step, the kit would include twenty different fake covers for the book.

Aren’t Tuesdays usually a little more innocent than this monstrosity? Such is an ill omen.

That’s a good discussion of it.

Hopefully with a followup expressing bitterness and disappointment in the PCs for not appreciating the meaning of the object. Doubly so if they sell it for the near zero value it has.

I’m seeing this as you missed the ride to faerieland and had to make do with mundane human society today.

This cat photo appears to embody more cat-ness than the average cat image. Superb catting.

A four-layer name is beautiful, but now I wonder if anyone has made it to seven yet. That will be a truly magical place.
