No, u of Cincinnati. I grew up in the UP and always had a soft spot for the geology there. I studied the complicated deglaciation of the area (it’s a weird mix of climate, big water in tunnel channels, and basin influences- very cool stuff :))

Yes!! I did my PhD research in the UP and had a similar experience. Write a few of my citations were decades old. It’s a gem for geology studies!

The Midwest is a big area— parts of KS look very different to parts of MI, for example. Planting trees as wind breaks/riparian buffers in fields can make space for more natural grassland/prairie recovery while maintaining ag production. Thoughtful planting is key, and agroforestry folks can help
