Now, i mean, locality probably has more to do with it than eclipses: erie is a colder growing zone so these bulbs are probably confused thinking it's mid-april. But STILL.

That blue number is everything

Also I mainly wear these when I'm in school classrooms teaching, so it can't be anything snarky or inappropriate to wear around kids

I'm always confused by the foods that kill you if you do it wrong. Like, who are a pufferfish, watched people die, and thought, "I bet if I butcherv that differently..." There are SO MANY OTHER FISH

I think any kind of wholesale bulk buying craft situation would be a detriment to all of our paychecks. That being said... count me in.

I know it starts with an earthquake that Lenny Bruce isn't scared of. After that.... Also, i wonder if it was a regional revolt. JET102 was in Erie.

when I was in 4th or 5th grade the local alt rock station was bought out to turn into a top 40s station instead. They played REM's it's the end of the world on repeat for 24 straight hours. No commercials. No DJ. No one had any idea what was happening or why. It was AMAZING. RIP jet102.

Damn! Not a single native on the upper east coast yet. Is it early for them or is this the right time of year for your wildflowers?

Grazie mille per la inglese! I am learning italian, so i try to understand the italian text, but it's nice to be able to check my comprehension. But I recognize it's extra work for you to translate, so i want you to know it's appreciated

Agreed! The beauty of a patchwork quilt is that they can always be repatched and keep evolving with you're family story.

I think it's so amazing how many different sign languages there are. Logically, I understand why - they evolved in their own enclaves just like an auditory language. But I love how rich and varied signed languages can be!

I was really surprised how many small sewing/fabric shops there are within 45 minutes drive of me. Ones I had never known about till I started frantically searching "fabric near me". Lots are quilt focused, so lots of cottons and things, but still....

There's this school of thought that "calendar spring" which is different than meteorological spring. March, April, May on the calendar is spring, not equinox to solstice. And so on

You know, for someone so very very scared of trans folk those belly dancers sure had some thick luxurious beards.

The Clueless soundtrack was one of the best albums of all time. I will die on that hill.

Did it feel this overwhelming then if you were an adult person with an actual stake in the game? Or at least a vote? I thought we were a well informed group of needs, but I also know I was a teen with boy drama so my judgement might be off..

Idk, the whole thing right now feels a little "the call is coming from inside the house" because it IS. but i suppose last time they gave us an outsider boogeyman to worry about and there were no weapons of mass destruction anyway, so what's the difference

We were all there in that immediate post 9/11 country. And it was scary and confusing. And maybe it's because we were still just kids at the time, but i don't remember it feeling like... like all THIS. Like, i remember the Patriot Act and I remember people being upset about it. But....

But... how does the government "serve the people" if no one is employed to provide said services? The government isn't an entity... the government is the collection of people employed with the skills to provide the services we demand from it.

I understand that the ruling class doesn't want an educated populace... that's how you get thrown out of power. But how did it happen that the populace itself sees knowledge as the enemy? How did they WIN?

So many people demanding that he go get "a real job". When did #education become a "fake" job? Like, honestly, how did we get to a point where we are ANGRY that people are out there, #teaching and educating the public?

I haven't, though I heard the @npr.org interview. It was fascinating. So the doc is on my list
