Because this is a good synthesis of a sentiment I keep hearing, I’m going to use it as a jumping off point: Former US presidents will not be opposition leaders unless they’re fascist (ie: Trump). Trump’s behavior eroded the peaceful transfer of power and incited Jan 6. Democrats don’t want that.

This was a good conversation and I didn’t know how hard online gambling was pushing. It is a terrible idea, but also I grew up in the most puritanical Minnesota where we didn’t even allow the lottery until I was about 10 (or so?). I am really not a fan of gambling.

If you know people who work for government, you know how reckless and probably criminal all this is. Government doesn’t get to indiscriminately spend massive amounts of money (honestly, not even small amounts). Staff are trained on ethics, have to document everything, etc. This is such a mockery
