Former USAF. Gifted swearer. Third amendment supporter. People get the governments they deserve…Dear Dr Franklin, we are sorry to report we couldn’t keep it. We gave it to a bunch of rich guys instead.

I hope Gen Caine is up to the task. I have my doubts, but I’ll wait to see what Caine does.

That said, he will need more that those attributes to serve this CINC. He will lead people who are more qualified than him, who have leadership experiences he doesn’t have, who were passed over for some loyalty test. He is going to be tested by a SECDEF who is the ultimate DEI hire.

I knew both officers, albeit briefly.
CQ is exactly what you would want in a CJCS. You will get the best military advice, absent any political bias to the extent he’s capable of providing it, since he is human.
Razin’ is ambitious, intelligent, & thoughtful. I don’t believe he put on a MAGA hat.

Add in in-app sports betting and you immediately reach that goal.
I’ll hate it, but it’ll work.

Clearly Trump can’t.

Unless they have actual authority to be there, call the police and have them arrested.

Sarcasm aside, that makes sense. How do you prove data obtained via trials is legit when the head of HHS won’t accept scientific conclusions?

Probably something like:
Pharmaceutical companies have no incentive to market drugs that would cause harm, so we will be trusting their internal processes for verifying safety and efficacy.

Isn’t confirmation a job interview of sorts? Imagine going into an interview and being asked, “Tell me about a time you made a mistake?”
And the response from the interviewee is “I plead the 5th.”
Would you hire that person?

So they can focus on all the discrimination against white men, I’m guessing?

Not sure if you heard, but RFK Jr says HIV doesn’t cause AIDS so I wouldn’t worry.

Tell your mom that they are going to give billionaires more money by cutting social security and Medicare, and taxing her more.
They won’t cut defense, and they can’t cut enough anywhere else. Have to make interest payments on the debt, which will skyrocket too.

The signal to noise ratio with Trump makes figuring out what to address challenging. It’s the flood the zone strategy, and it works because representative governments aren’t meant to have 50% of the body politic operate in bad faith.

What would courage look like?
Filibuster, take to the airwaves, go on Fox and OANN even. Social media the shit out of them, including on Musks own platform.
But unless our leaders do this, we’re going to cease to be a republic.

Trump or Musk?

I agree, Senator.
SO FUCKING DO SOMETHING.

If the congresspeople hit these police with flagpoles, mace, and bear spray and forcibly gain entrance, will the GOP finally call them heroes?
comment in response to

Maybe when musks team shows up, someone does need to call the police. If they are trying to enter an area with classified to which they do not have proof of clearance, law enforcement needs to be called.

Mexico should seize the initiative: announce tariffs will go into place tomorrow and introduce an export tax to the US because Trumps behavior is so unpredictable and irrational.

The old “fix the glitch” tactic. They are literally the villains of every film, book, show and play.

We will probably just leave it to some E-3 or E-4 to check the access roster and then tell Musk that he can’t get into the SCIF, and Musk will post his name on X and shit all over him. And the right will celebrate Musk, and then we will have no idea what he does with any information he gets.

Nothing to see here! Just the President of the United States using official means to denigrate the press.

So…we abuse the Canadians and then they’ll want to become US citizens? What kind of fucked up abusive dark triad bullshit is this? You gonna tell them they can be American so you can take away healthcare?
comment in response to

Great piece. I can’t help but think that the flood the zone strategy is multi-tiered. The cruelty and outrage of the anti-immigrant program (“so we got a few Americans and treated people like terrorists…oh well!”) is a distraction from the high payoff targets like OMB and Treasury.

So the alternative then? Which is worse…? If Georgians and Russians will March, Americans should follow their example.
