Just vibing & making random cosplays. It’s absolute chaos, but I make cool things.

I appreciate it! Currently it’s held together with safety pins because I’m procrastinating on closures. It’s the perfect time to change anything

It’s camera mirroring I think. I did have the right over the left with my temporary closures. I will double-check before I install the final ones

Finally got these finished enough to be able to do a spin (very happy that I went with a nearly full circle pattern for the skirt). I still have some hemming and clean up to do but I’m pleased so far

Plugging away at the skirt. The lining is FINALLY fully stitched and sewn to the fashion layer (via flatlining). I added the piping and sewed the trim on.
I still have to press everything and do a little hand sewing but then the two halves will be done and I can attach them

Made some piping out of 4-way stretch vinyl in a brownish wine color. Basted down the piping onto the collar seam allowance and then attached the actual collar. Now all that’s left is pressing seams and hand stitching down the back side

Currently at a relative’s house watching pets but I did get 75% of the 130 inches of Bediou’s trim stitched down. It’s definitely a little wonky in some spots but it’s deeply satisfying. So much better than the mass produced trim I was thinking of using

Due to my Cricut being an idiot and nearly giving me a heart attack, I ended up having to cut the remaining trim for the cuffs by hand.
I glued the sections together with copydex latex glue and ironed stabilizer to the backs of the seams

Holes punched and eyelets installed: the gauntlets are done

Leather progress:
First two pics are before and after burnishing the edges (such a difference)
Third pic is with and without polish
Fourth is the finished gauntlet pieces

While I’m waiting on my leather to dry so that I can dye it, I’m practicing my stitches. I’m doing a variant of a saddle stitch called a leapfrog stitch which lets me work without a stitching pony (yay for not having to buy yet another tool!)

One guantlet is tooled and hole-punched for stitching. Still need to add holes for the grommets

Extreme lining details are underway

The sleebies are done. They’re far from perfect since I hand-cut everything but they look so good irl. It’s a silly amount of detail that makes me very happy

I worked on the gold bits tonight. I used a cream thread to make this easier and prayed for my beloved basting spray to carry me through. It came in clutch once more

Plugging away at the unnecessarily detailed trim for Beidou’s sleeves. I decided to go with three different colors of vinyl after being inspired by some fun vectors of waves

A blessed armpit seam? A blessed lining and fashion layer seam? Who am I and what crafting god did I appease to get these 😂

This is someone that knows most of the big names in local the area and has been using these friends to get judging gigs. I realized I might be judging with her & had to get out of the event because I have personally disqualified her before for cheating.

Working on a 3D volcano for the back one of the collars. My white Italian wire mesh came on so I can finally make my concept of the volcano/lava filled with souls of the boi’s victims

It’s so cool! I can’t wait to make it!

Up to 14/30 but now I need a break and a nap

Slowly making my way down the collar. It’s the same techniques (irregular pleats + puffs) but with different fabrics and with some Italian wire mesh added.

When life is not going great apparently my coping mechanism is crafting something so I am zooming through the collar goop

Reinforced the collar with some more fusible stuff and now I’m back at goop (with Italian wire mesh mixed in)

It’s soooo far from being done and the front is having weird with it just being pinned BUT, I’m done with the base goop for the body of the robe.
Also have pockets (as I show at the end)

I am almost done with the base texture on the body of the robe. Only about 6 inches left of doing endless French knots. Probably should be moving to a different phase of the project tomorrow

I did just do a build thread (which I should have done months ago). Thank-you for asking me because I would have remember to cross post it here. I am so forgetful about that 😂

In the background, I’ve been brainstorming concepts for the belt and the prop. I’ve been staring at a lot of art of both White No Face & who he is under the mask (huge spoiler so not saying here). I like to weave in lore references where I can after all.

I’ve been experimenting with texture for the collar/sleeve bands and blending out my raw edges with thousands of French knots. So far I’ve used over 70 yards worth of embroidery floss for the edge blending. That’s where we’re at as of Jan. 2025

It’s been months of making puffs, sewing down the pleats, adding the dumplings, and shuffling the hoop along by a few inches. Only in Nov/Dec did I start to get faster and make real progress.

Back on July/Aug of 2024, I started the process of sculpting the pleats and sewing down puffs (with help from friend’s cats as supervisors). This is honestly just pure vibes and isn’t plotted out ahead of time

The puff making started off small but has grown into practically its own industry. These are made by tracing random thread spools and bead containers onto fabric, cutting them out, hand gathering them, stuffing with Polyfill, and then closing up the bottom.
Btw, I call these my fabric dumplings

I’m using two different weight cotton gauzes, a white brocade, & some leftover black feather pattern brocade for the fabrics.
I had to assemble the main robe panels before embroidering so first steps involved putting in giant inseam pockets.

The book I used for inspo is ‘The Art of Manipulating Fabric’. Specifically, I was drawn to the hand gathered pleats and gathered circles.
I’m doing variations on those techniques. The pleats are very irregular and I’m hand gathering puffs (trimming any excess edges off of the circle).

Original idea was just to couch down cording in an abstract screaming face + swirls motif but House of the Dragon costumes reminded me that 3D embroidery exists so I went down the rabbit hole of fabric manipulation to get my test piece (on right)

I only realized right now that I forgot to ever share my cosplay concept for this. Whoops 🙃. It’s a reimagining of a villain from Heaven’s Official Blessing but making him into a plague bearer type character. Gross, creepy, but elegant is the vibe idea

Thank-you! It’s been so fun to go wild on a texture and just go with vibes only
