Very true!

There probably is.
I would expect a high social desirability bias; at least a portion of the respondents wouldn't be totally sure that the survey will remain anonymous, and therefore they may not reveal their true opinions on it.

This is the message I see!!
Wondering if they changed it or if different messages appear for users based on their location.

Not guy.
And the bit about academia is fact.
I've lived in both countries as an immigrant, and believe me, both systems can be exploited by the employer and the employee. Neither is perfect.

I assume it depends on the industry norms.
I work in academia and if I find another university who wants to hire me, they will for sure apply for my H1-B too.

The same is true for H1-Bs though. As long as you find another employer to sponsor you, you can switch.

Depends. Canada grants both employer-specific and open work permits, but the former is the equivalent of H1-Bs, where the employer essentially sponsors the visa process.
OWPs are usually given to individuals graduating Canadian schools, or accompanying international students.

It sure seems like it.
The Iranian state media is filled with headlines such as "others are reaping the benefits of what we sowed," referring to the billions of dollars the regime spent helping Assad being wasted.

This is so true, and I think many Americans don't get it because they have not experienced living under a dictatorship in their lifetime.

What's wild is that no one ever talks about the scandal, as if it was erased from the collective memory.
As an Iranian born after the Iran-Iraq war, I never heard about it until earlier this year, and neither did the majority of my friends.

The majority of people have no idea how economies work. You can tell them 100 times that Trump was riding Obama's economy and left the country in shambles, and all they hear is "eggs were cheaper four years ago." This plus misogyny, racism, and Biden taking too long to quit the race.

Putting poor content and moderation quality aside, I left because Elon now has actual political power, and I don't think he is above using the info he has on our preferences and activities against us for retaliation.
