Those are gorgeous, and I have heard great things about it. I will give it a try.

I totally get it. If it helps Affinity's layout across its programs is very similar and easy to adapt to those who use Adobe. My big issue is that Publisher chokes on the bigger Namesake chapter files, but I can break those up.

They really do. I may just need to break the chapters down into smaller files and that will probably work.

I went back down to PS/LR/ID in 2021, but then went back to the full suite when I needed it for video/audio editing at work. But now that I have a work Adobe account, I can cut back again. I love Affinity Publisher, but it struggles with the bigger book files Namesake has.

I've got the Affinity suite, and it's definitely a great replacement for Photoshop. Lightroom focuses on photography post-processing and organization. You can edit photos in there and then more advance stuff in Photoshop. Sadly, Affinity doesn't really have an equivalent for that yet.

As for the other apps I use: InDesign ➡️ Affinity Publisher Premiere ➡️ Davinci Resolve, CapCut or Final Cut Pro Audition ➡️ Audacity or the audio program in Davinci Acrobat ➡️ Preview

The only thing I may keep is the photography plan, because I like Lightroom way better than Capture One. But I am open to suggestions for photo organizing and editing. Maybe I’ll finally buy Photo Mechanic.

I had a Cricut 3 and it was perfect for that, though I did not try foiling. I’m letting the local makerspace use it now. Michaels will put them on sale every so often.

This is accurate. Also younger millennials don’t remember when the dads of elder millennials got satellites just to steal HBO feeds. But I remember.

I packed a little cooler with Gatorade Zero and packets of pickles. Thankfully it’s not too hot today.

@cmautner.bsky.social A+ editorial choice here.

Here's a shortcut to the podcast episodes. To get the full story, you'll want to listen to episodes 99, 117, 142, 146, 153, and all four parts of episode 177, the last of which just came out in March and finishes the story of the Beach Boys. Perfect timing.

One of my faves is cold soba. It’s a similar recipe. www.justonecookbook.com/zaru-soba-co...

They test-drove it with Bridgerton.

I am imagining the bike ride home with that. House mounted on the back of a bike.

Gotcha. It's the same for us, but I just leave the car parked at Isa's. I only take it down to the festival for setup on Thursday then breakdown on Sunday. That may be something to consider for next year since Berri-UQAM is way closer to the festival than her place.

I am also the proud mama of an orange kitty with thumbs! I'm so thrilled for y'all!

I presume it's the lot down near the A section? A friend also used that lot. That's where I plan to park next year. We were in E, so I was looking for parking near Mont-Royal.

I got very lucky thanks to Apple's safety features that can also pick up 3rd party devices. Thanks, Apple. This is a cautionary tale, especially if you're driving in a place with a high rate of theft. I have steering wheel locks, but they're a deterrent. Check your car for trackers.

However, I had two other dings against me: I'm an American, and I was driving a Honda CR-V. There have been news stories about tracking devices being attached to cars in Montreal then stolen: Source 1: www.mynbc5.com/article/burl... Source 2: www.montrealgazette.com/news/canada/...

This, apparently had been a thing. When I looked up the parking lot I had used, the recent reviews talked about car thefts. We figured I would be OK since I wasn't keeping the car there overnight.

Isa and I went to my car and I started playing the sound. I do have an AirTag in the car, but the sound wasn't coming from where I have it stashed. I found this tracker in the front grill of the car, next to the windshield wipers. We quickly disabled it and I moved the car for the night.

Hahaha, I have diabetes too. Thankfully, whatever hot chocolate I had was balanced out by all the walking I did. My blood sugar tends to remain pretty good during cons because of that exercise.

1000% the truth. Our table was right in front of the shop that sold hot chocolate AND fresh brownies. I'm sorry I was never able to make it down to your end this year! We were slammed on Sunday once the weather turned nice.
