"Reichsverweser" is one of those fun German titles that simply don't work in translation (basically "imperial regent"). It sounds like it has to do with decay but the "Verweser" has nothing to do with "Verwesung" (decay). It comes from the Old High German firwesan (for or in the place of a person).

Bei meiner Mutter im Haus schleppt sich gerade der kostenlose!!! Einbau des Glasfaserkabels, weil einige der anderen Eigentümer dagegen sind. Weil, was wenn es in 10 Jahren wieder was Neues gibt? Und statt Glasfaserkabel hat einer stattdessen dann einen WLan-Verstärker vorgeschlagen. *headdesk*
