The US phased out lead in gasoline and managed to make that change despite the 70s oil crisis and multiple changes in administration. We banned lead paint during that time as well.
It's not easy, but history shows us that we are capable of making positive changes over time.

Team of burned out coders working Muskrat-mandated 80+ hour weeks. Maybe putting in more hours per week doesn't result in more quality code?

Huge infighting between racists and oligarchs over whose vision of hate and poverty for America will prevail. Legislative gridlock and likely a government shutdown.
What passes anyway? Tax increases for most people and tax cuts for the rich. Public benefit cuts. Cuts to regulations.

There is widely available and reproducible data showing Americans pay more and receive less when compared to health services in other countries. We sickening our people and damaging our businesses and national interests to make a small number of greedy people slightly more money.

From another economic angle, health expenses are draining money that Americans could be using to pay down debt, save for retirement, or even spend on goods and services. This is a drag on the American economy - that money could be circulating and stimulating more spending instead of being flushed.

It's not like doctors or nurses or pharmacists are getting rich off this system either. They're being ground down by useless opposing bureaucracy as they try to get approval for medically necessary procedures and medications.

Health expenses make America less competitive in the global labor market, as American employees are more expensive to employ. As an employer, you may lose employees who need to quit from their own health or to care for a relative, increasing your training costs and losing expertise.

With defense manufacturing requiring domestic production by law, our tanks and planes and missiles are more expensive to produce. Our "healthcare" system is a threat to national security. It makes any government or commercial contract more expensive, since any job also has health insurance costs.
