Trans allyship means fighting for us, not just affirming us. Yes, telling trans people we’re valid can sometimes be comforting. But real support means calling out transphobia, pushing for legal protections and ensuring trans people have access to healthcare, housing and safety.

The use of "accusing" here is disgusting from the Washington Post. Zelensky didn't "accuse" Trump of lying; Trump was lying. The Post even confirms Trump lied in the same sentence!

I really hate the "put up with the grime, it's a city" mindset, but I hate this sort of declinism more. A country that gives up on public transit bc it's scary, and crams more people into cars, is a failure.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — A news conference between Zelenskyy and Donald Trump’s Ukraine envoy is cancelled at U.S. request, a Kyiv official says.

This seems fine. I’m sure nothing could possibly go wrong

An X account, operated by ICE Assistant Chief Counsel James Rodden, and first created in 2012, has posted hateful, xenophobic, and pro-fascist content. The Observer linked Rodden to the account through publicly available documents, other social media activity, and courtroom observation.

Polis is still soft-pedaling Trumpism

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges. This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

All kidding aside, the reason he is doing this is to establish some kind of culpability by @profgalloway.com and I. We never threatened these people but it is all in service of getting his supporters to think we did. It’s not a random tweet — all planned for a larger effort to silence us or worse.

This energy.

Murphy: "I continue to get reports from Connecticut that agencies there, like Head Start programs and community health centers, are actually not receiving the funding they are due. So I think there's a big question as to whether the administration actually is implementing the court order."

this is the sort of thing you post when you’re ramping up to defying lawful court orders

Gosh if only someone, anyone, had seen any of this coming weeks or hell even months ago, to take notice of the emergency instead of just saying this to win an election to then act surprised and confused about the emergency

I still, to this day, have ever seen anyone explain “why” on crypto beyond drugs, tax evasion and tulip like speculation on some to in that has no use beyond the first two.

Feeling a little tired repeatedly explaining that, for a general strike to work, you can’t just all stay home and do nothing You ALSO have to set up and maintain a system for making sure that people still get food, medicine, medical care, clean water, heat, power, etc.

Murphy: "The reality is this could get dystopian very quickly. If you were to start speaking ill of Elon Musk on social media, Musk might be able to stop or delay your tax refund, or your mom's Social Security benefit, in part because we have no window into what's happening at Treasury right now."

i think that's what break rooms are in real life too. have you ever seen a break room where the only colorful thing in the room is a TV playing the same fake-cheery message from the CEO over and over again.

This is the kind of juice Dems need to bring.

I guess it's time for strange questions: if you, hypothetically, were tasked with putting together a commission to draft a new constitution, who would you want to put on it?

This is possibly the most astonishing thing I've read from the last week. DOGE re-writing air traffic control. DOGE gutting USAID & raiding its SCIF. DOGE hoovering up OPM. All of it madness. But this one is worse. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

"Do what Mitch would do..." No, not even close. Mitch didn't do even 1% of what could be done by a minority determined to keep the Senate grinding in circles getting absolutely nothing done. They should be blowing past McConnell-level obstruction in a way that makes it look like business as usual.

All y’all should probably freeze your credit due to the little muskrats’ data theft.

Crockett: "If feels as if y'all have just decided that y'all are gonna castrate your constitutional duty & hand it over to someone who was unelected. I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

look, idk how much this move things, but banks can lobby too. if you have ever been employed by the federal gov’t, call your bank and say you would like to know what they are doing to protect their customers from the identity theft that is occurring ...

If you cannot call it what it is when all in a week: a government removes every mention of a group of people, destroys information about them en masse, bans their discussion in schools, restricts their ability to travel and starts seizing and refusing their official identification, when will you?
