At best, they think normal people don’t have the education or capacity to grasp policy and how it affects them so it’s their noble burden to lead the lumpen masses. At worst, they look at normal people like “the help” and resent any challenge to their authority. In reality, I think it’s kinda both.

This is already the law. These executive orders are just there to obscure what’s legal and what isn’t to allow authoritarianism to fill in the gaps.

Why are these journalists so godawful? I have to believe at this point that they intentionally avoid a contextual thru line to prolong the human-centipedinal cycle of corporate reporting. An actual “gotcha” would mean the cycle of bullshit would end, so they always avoid it. Its fucking theater.

All the people in this thread that think TrueAnon is being serious makes me really sad. Turn down the “lib resistance” autopilot setting y’all.

So, not making sweeping, lazy, and unfair generalizations is a leftist thing now?

He’s a sociopath eugenicist tinkerer who’s only alive and relevant today because of his family’s wealth.

Yeah fuck this guy.

Aw look what he’s doing to the We Constitution!!! Nothing like heralding in the new despotic dystopia with AI slop.

We’ve all been fooled by our popular culture and media to think fascists and Nazis were/are methodical and precise evil geniuses. In reality, they’re mostly losers and creeps with avg to blow avg intelligence who would fade away in a free and fair world. They’re only relevant if theyre in control.

Exactly! We need actual leaders, not spineless careerists like Hakeem.

Or they could be a shepherd… or a cowboy… or a coyote… or a wolf… or a cowbird…

Step aside. Your responses to Trump’s attacks on our freedoms and institutions have ranged from “piss poor” to “what the actual fuck?” The job needs to go to someone who actually has fight in them.

Jesus Christ Adam, you Dems keep slow stepping your response to Trump’s authoritarianism and the Republicans will eventually have all the power to take guns away from anyone they want. This is the equivalent of the Titanic’s head chef stressing about rotten produce after the iceberg hit.

So this is what sets him off huh? So if we could only explain to him, possibly in a strongly worded letter, how our democracy is like a car and trump’s lawlessness and authoritarianism is like… well, let’s just say it’s like a tax.

They’d come after anything they see as an obstacle to power. Religion’s just one of their most useful means to justify rule without rationale or reason. Defining what Christianity is on a legal level will always be more about excluding and persecuting groups than it ever will be about “protecting”.

There’s plenty of Christian churches out there that wouldn’t allow anti-gay sermons either. Does that mean they have an anti Christian bias too? The trump administration is trying to establish what doctrinal Christianity is and isn’t. It’s not just unconstitutional but extremely dangerous.

I get the feeling that the day after martial law’s enacted, there’s going to be good percentage of people realizing it’s not “Marshall law” and has nothing to do with Wyatt Earp.

I feel like this even does a disservice to manboys.

Our popular culture has done us a great disservice by conditioning us to believe most fascists are calculating and meticulous evil geniuses. When in reality, most of them are reactionary violence hungry thugs with discernible brain damage.

“Hooff Cooksey” just sounds like the secret identity of a c-tier supervillain named The Gluey Gooner. …or someone whose rich parents named him knowing they could go as far as naming him Pissh Nibblhes and everyone around would have to smile and nod agreeably because of their generational wealth.

Hey Hakeem, Republicans aren’t fit to govern but you sure as hell don’t seem very fit to fight back against this assault on our freedoms and civil rights. Step up or step aside.

By their same rationalization asking a cop to see a warrant before you let them search your home could land you with obstruction. It’s like being arrested for resisting arrest. This has gone on for decades and only getting worse and both Dem and GOP lawmakers are to blame for letting it happen.

NYT sure has a knack for normalizing dystopia.

There’s nothing that’s that makes be believe that Cuban wouldn’t do a complete 180 if his economic winds changed. He seems as ideologically rooted as Joe Rogan.

Man, that headline leading with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Mr Beast is reason enough to make me want to run screaming in the opposite direction. But congrats on your eps!

If an old tree falls in the middle of the road and blocks your path toward, you can feel bad for the tree while also prioritizing its removal and rejoicing when it’s no longer impeding you.

Who the hell is this mushmouthed prepubescent propagandist anyway? He looks like he’d wilt if he even had to do a weeks worth of hard labor. What avenues does he have to end up in El Salvador to whitewash gross authoritarianism and slavery?

The article says the outbreak happened in November… so during Biden’s administration?
