Well, obviously because it's cheaper and more influential to make political donations than to pay tax. People who pay tax just don't have a relationship with the right people.

Tell me again: How did that work out for Native Americans?

Rupert is Albo's boss and can sack him any time he wants for any bullshit reason he chooses. No politician is brave enough to stand up to that sort of power. Which is why Grace's opinion is, ironically, the mature, politically sophisticated opinion here, not Albo's.

Now we have to worry that the morning the USA wakes up and there's no coffee and a lot of people are very grumpy that's the day Civil War 2 begins.

Good question but maybe better questions: What else has Zuk promised Trump? What's Zuk getting in return?

I basically agree. And I think there's probably a simple solution (albeit incredibly difficult): de-monitise and reinstate privacy on the internet. If/when gen-z have their revolution and sieze the means of production I suspect it probably means them doing that.

Yes, enshitification is a very useful concept but it sits inside a large body of great analysis of the digital revolution by Cory Doctorow. Anyone trying to understand the on-line world should read his stuff.

If we get a COP summit is that confirmation that Australia is petro-state?

Tried this with a rescue baby brush-tail. Raised it, lovely when young BUT some time after release became agressively territorial with me, who'd been the main feeder/carer. Used to wait in the bushes at night to ambush me: suddenly a furious ball of possum attached by tooth and claw to my ankle.
