"As SEND budgets struggle, private firms are profiteering from schools they run.

"So why won’t ministers back our amendment to include special schools in their proposed profit cap backstop for children’s social care providers?" @munirawilson.bsky.social

Exciting to watch Elon Musk pivot so elegantly from making his cars toxic to the demographic most likely to consider one, to making his Starlink a national security risk for all the governments who might have wanted it.

In Anniston, Alabama

In these deeply uncertain times internationally, our country's food security is absolutely vital. Rather than hammering farmers with cuts to basic payments and increased taxes, the Government should be investing in supporting our farmers to keep our country food-secure.

They are arguing, endlessly, that illegally inciting acts of terror online is ‘free speech’ while silencing dissent, targeting journalists & telling an invaded ally what he is & is not allowed to say during a live television broadcast are all fine.

Yay @foilarmsandhog.bsky.social are now on here!!!!

Oleg Magdych was there when the war in Ukraine began. He knows who started it.

This is a President who skipped a World War One commemoration because it was raining talking to one who has stood in front of a fresh mass grave of his own people.

Per Dr Atul Gawande, ex USAID: “All malaria supplies protecting 53 million people, mostly children, including bed nets, diagnostics, preventive drugs, and treatments – terminated.” There are no words that sufficiently describe this level of cruelty and sadism.

Every news outlet reporting Elon Musk's comment about accidentally canceling Ebola prevention efforts and quickly restoring them should also say they haven't been restored, they're still canceled, the outbreak-fighting teams are dismantled, the money is gone www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Column. On the mad right-wing ARC conference, and how peculiarly frightened they all seem to be of completely made up things, while somehow never really mentioning real things at all. www.thetimes.com/article/25dc...

🚨 NEW: Kemi Badenoch acknowledges the existence of the Lib Dems - Considers them a “protest party for mainly people on the left” - "They are not on Twitter, but they are in local communities" - "They will destroy the whole country..." Transcript from DailyWire interview with Jordan Peterson 👇

This is real. Unbelievable but real.

Calling Zelensky a “Dictator” must be where the line is drawn. It is my sincere hope that the whole political spectrum in the United Kingdom will speak with one voice in opposition to Trump’s lies.

The Tories used to care about things like the church roof. That kind of thing used to win them elections. Weird how someone can be so close to getting it and get so very far away.

Media team @libdems.org.uk - take the rest of the day off

History buffs will know that every authoritarian leader eventually converges on some version of: "I *am* the state. I can not break the law, I am the law, the law is instantiated in me." Our march to authoritarianism so far has been excruciatingly by-the-book. Hitting every beat. No surprises.

Why is the government happy to cosy up to China, but won't even look at a better customs deal with our closest neighbours in Europe? Ministers say they’re looking everywhere for growth but are ignoring what is staring them in the face.

We can't let British democracy turn into a plaything for overseas billionaires with short attention spans. At PMQs, I urged the Prime Minister to work with us to make sure power always sits with the voters, not wealthy foreign oligarchs.

I am willing to buy more from Denmark if Trump hits them with tariffs. Put me down for half a ton of bacon, 2 tubs of Lurpak and a Schmeichel.
