Thanks for the thread! I can't wait to watch the debate and read more about it! Just from this thread, I'm liking Malvido so far.

Haha silly investors, don't they see that option D includes both B and C within it?

Muad'dib is so humble he denies being Muad'dib... Even more evidence to show that he is!

I'm worried that Dems will just always have a vibes disadvantage moving forward because of the power of the disinformation engine.

The ability for the city council and mayor to "move the funds" to some other destination has been villainized on sites like reddit. What would be other potential destinations of funds? How does this differ from other city budgeting??

When I heard "Crash Conspiracy" I thought it would be a conspiracy that DJT is purposely crashing the economy for some reason

waitbutwhy.com/2015/05/elon... This series is what gave me that opinion. It could all be a PR thing, but it seems like, before the internet rotted his brain, he fit the "Smart guy worried about REAL issues, not trifles like the well being of real living people" archetype

Either way, to get back to the origin of the topic, using evolutionary concepts to argue why c-sections are ok seems weird. Why not just argue that c-sections are a useful piece of modern medical technology that can improve outcomes, and shaming women for needing or getting them is cringe and silly?

I agree with you on the reality of the situation and timescales. Musk did seem pretty "future of the species oriented" earlier in his career, and I wouldn't be surprised if opinions and priors he got then have been carried into his more reactive self now.

I'd guess for evolution to fully utilize bigger heads, it would take much more than ~10 or so generations. It will be a long time before a bigger head actually means more capable brains and isn't just random variations in phenotypes. Elon assumes that allowing bigger heads means smarter immediately

If a baby gets a specific genetic combo that makes their brain too big, or a mother gets one that makes a birth canal too small, a c-section allows these people to live. So now humans with larger brains than birth canals can exist. That being said...

I mean, I think a lot of "evolutionary" arguments are pretty bunk, but the theory that human childbirth is so difficult because we have massive brains seems believable. I don't think it's giving him too much credit to think he heard that somewhere and started extrapolating too far.

He isn't saying that birth reduces the size of a brain. He's saying that the size of the birth canal creates an evolutionary limit on how big brains can get. If it's too big, mother and child die in childbirth. With c-sections, we surpass that limit. Whether all that is true is in question, though

And don't forget one massive difference: Dems and Biden agree that Hunter did something wrong, that he is guilty. Trump and Republicans would never admit guilt despite the pardons
