Looks like the Trump administration is waging a “holy war” against science (just like the church waged war against science in the Middle Ages).

But in America under Trump, some people don't even get food stamps and probably have to go hungry.

A Hitler salute? Is Trump your new fascist leader? Then you should absolutely not accommodate Trump under any circumstances.

You really shouldn't kiss the ass of a potential dictator. Furthermore, you should never have zero tariffs with a nation that doesn't give a damn about climate change or the world. I doubt that an energy transition in industry is even possible with zero tariffs with the US.

The simplest approach would be to introduce an age limit for presidential candidates. I would suggest 70. Trump would be far too old.

Who knows, maybe one of Trump's friends would have gone bankrupt if Trump hadn't backed down on the tariffs. Or maybe he's just playing games with the stock market, and some friend is doing insider trading.

From Canada, Mr. Stanley can write about Trump and the new administration with almost no risk and perhaps warn the people of the US and the world as well.

What about the CO2 tax? If your country produces its products with fossil fuels, can you compete if you produce "green" yourself? Or will there no longer be an energy transition?
comment in response to
post
I suspect Trump of being a puppet of the fossil fuel industry. I'm convinced he doesn't want people to know anything about global warming, its causes, and who the main perpetrators are. He doesn't want Americans to be held accountable.

Withdrawing from the climate agreement and promoting oil, coal, and natural gas production helps industry, and the rich seem convinced that global warming will hurt other countries and the poor.

Some wealthier people seem to want what Trump is doing, such as tax breaks for the rich and abolishing everything that costs the government money.

If Trump were to die, J.D. Vance would become president. I fear he is even worse.
If the whole world stood together against Trump, then Trump would have to kiss the world's ass. That would be much better.

There are areas where the drinking water contains a lot of fluoride (>1.5 mg/l), and you may get poisoned, if you drink too much of it. In such areas, fluoride should be removed (or at least reduced) from drinking water. www.eawag.ch/fileadmin/Do...:

With many things, the dose makes the poison. The amount of fluoride in toothpaste is very small. You would have to eat several tubes of toothpaste to exceed the limit at which fluoride becomes toxic.

I would have hoped for a fairer solution between Palestinians and Jews. Only Clinton put pressure on both sides (Jews and Palestinians).

Moreover, Netanjahu didn't stop the war with Gaza. He sends more troups to Gaza. Blame Trump too. He doesn't stop Netanjahu neither.
comment in response to

As far as I know, Biden and Netanyahu didn't agree and Netanjahu continued against Biden's wishes. But Trump's idea of relocating the remaining Palestinians from Gaza is definitely not what the Palestinians envision as a solution neither.

What Hamas has done is definitely condemnable. What Netanyahu is doing is also condemnable. It is not okay to destroy all of Gaza and kill so many people in Gaza.

China probably has the most experience with reforestation in arid or near-desert areas.
comment in response to

When it comes to land system change, perhaps every country must show responsibility and make laws so that no forests are cleared or perhaps even reforested. However, with global warming, it will likely become more difficult.

I think, there are still a lot of problems ahead for us.
comment in response to

I wouldn't say the problem of over-fertilization is unsolvable. As far as I know, it's partly the amount, and partly simply liquid or artificial fertilizers, which quickly leach into the groundwater, rivers, and lakes.
comment in response to
post
As far as I know, the biochemical problem with N and P is the problem with excessive fertilizer use in agriculture. This is particularly damaging to our own lakes. And probably the ocean as well. A part of our lakes are over-fertilized, a part is healthy.
