The WEB CHILD stickers have arrived. We participated in our first outreach event this week, and as you might have guessed they were a big hit. #ERCCoG #WEBCHILD

Looking forward to this term's seminars, with talks by some of our students, @jennycrane.bsky.social and @susannahwright.bsky.social - join us!

Excited to see the response to tariffs might be growing food. Fucking capitalist authoritarianism one home grown tomato at a time is a bit slow but also makes for better lives along the way. 🍅🥬🍇🍓🍒

Maybe we should honor the women who were real astronauts. From left to right are Shannon W. Lucid, Margaret Rhea Seddon, Kathryn D. Sullivan, Judith A. Resnik, Anna L. Fisher, and Sally K. Ride. NASA selected all six women as their first female astronaut candidates in January 1978.

How will History judge Trump? The same way as Geography, Physics, Music, Maths, Physical Education, Biology, Metal Work, Chemistry, English, Home Economics, Art, Civics, Psychology, Health Education, Economics, Engineering, Philosophy, Agriculture, Astronomy etc etc etc

Hi! Are you a US researcher who spent time thinking about humans? Then your work is in danger of censorship and loss. I'm here to walk you through basic self-archiving. Maybe you think I am being hyperbolic. You only worked on bacteria! Not your problem. Do me a favor and join me anyway.

UK academic friends: anyone aware of anything being done to support non-US students whose visas are being cancelled right now? Support to relocate PhDs, replace lost funding, etc? If not, DM or email me if you’d be interested in spitballing/working on this

This is high art

NYC’s Hands Off march completely shuts down 42nd Street! #handsoff

Week 1 of the #ERCCoG #WEBCHILD project, and we already have designs for cool swag thanks to affiliated PhD student #SaschaBergBøgebjerg. Imagine this as a holographic sticker and tell me if it's not peak '90s? Want to lean more about my project? See: cas.au.dk/en/erc-webch...

#BDCAM25 Roundtable "Environmentally sustainable infrastructure for computationally intensive work in digital cultural heritage: the cases of born-digital archives & AI-based systems" Report mentioned by @jfwinters.bsky.social 'Archives and the environment' 2023 zenodo.org/records/1006... #DigiPres

#BDCAM25 A very important, but often forgotten point from Adrian Demleitner: "Preservation ( #DigitalPreservation ) is political"

These are über cool conference badges. And the ##BDCAM25 conference is as cool as its badges (yes, I'm one of the organisers, and yes, I'm biased, but it's true).

I am *really* enjoying @dorothyjberry.bsky.social's keynote at #BDCAM25. Thoughtful, thought provoking and so beautifully composed.

1 / Executive power now operates via Delete Commands in digital infrastructures. This isn't data management. It's calculated obliteration of who gets to exist in digital memory and knowledge infrastructures. Thank you @verfassungsblog.de for publishing our (@ktmac.bsky.social and my) essay!

The Programming Historian is such a wonderful resource for digital scholarship. We’re delighted to support it and its brilliant team.

Proud parent: This morning conversing with my 13yo, he said, "we'll call them that for copyright reasons" in a really sarcastic I-know-how-capitalism-and-IP-rights-work-and-I-don't-like-it way. 💯🤩😎🥰

There are going to be so many awesome presentations at #BDCAM25

Hey, if you, like me, are a US citizen who's had your books/stories/articles stolen by Meta to train AI, you can submit your name to the class action suit using this easy contact form for one of the law firms involved: www.saverilawfirm.com/meta-languag...

Dear Bluesky Community, in the Netherlands there are protest this week against government cuts to universities. I’m wondering if there are similar cuts implemented or planed in EU? Could you point me to information sources, newspapers articles about this? Thank you!

This week you can join me and hundreds of scientists to learn the 4 mistakes to avoid when you write your next grant. Nope, they’re not all about writing. And yes, they’ll help you improve whatever grant proposal you write 🎊Details here⇒ buff.ly/KndHh72 #NewPI #ECRchat #MSCA #ERCCoG #ERCStG #ERCadv

Which research environments in Canada are strong for critical legal scholarship? I'm particularly looking for places that support Marxist legal theory, international law, and critical legal geography. Any recommendations?

This is outrageous! A few days ago the Pentagon, in a fight against "diversity", deleted 26,000 photos documenting the contribution of women & minority groups to the US Armed Forces. The move of Arlington National Cemetary is likewise designed to eradicate the memory of women & minority soldiers.

I feel like Bluesky can help with this: I have a nine-year-old who is Dungeons & Dragons curious. They don’t have friends who play (yet). Where should we start if they want to learn more about it?

I want a t-shirt that says "Historically..."

Has anyone ever partnered with another prof or institution and had students share their work with another class or externally? Wondering what kinds of IRB/FERPA stuff you have to work through to get this to work? Eg. Communication stds making infographics and sharing with external science stds
