It's the best thing I've seen in many years, and it's very sad, and disturbing

Plus there is a bunch of music on there that wasn't in my old music collection backup so that's a nice little nostalgic discovery

If a friend tells me they don't know how to pirate any more I try to hook them up with a private tracker invite, it didn't feel that important until every company just had to have their own streaming service. I just checked how long I've been on the tracker I've used the most, 21 years lol

Oh yeah and accepting that sometimes I'm not actually going to get good at a thing, it's just nice to mess around with something and that's fine as long as I had fun and learned something doing it

If the researching and preparing for a new thing gets you super excited but when you need to start doing it and it's not a novelty any more you put it down then maybe? But sometimes I guess it's just people struggling to manage the time for life and multiple interests without any neurodiversity

I do need to get on with soldering projects though, I've got so many broken and disassembled things lol

My interest fades but it tends to come back eventually, so then it's nice to have things ready and waiting for me. It's bad for storage though

There was once a brief moment where the technoutopian dream seemed possible but it was only a dream and I don't think that is ever coming back

Later I got lazy and relied on free services as we all do. As long as we're the product, or rely on services from companies to not turn evil it's only ever going to get worse. This would require massive cooperation which has no profit motive, so forget about it. The internet is always going to suck

I've been using Linux every day for 20 years and I hate every single Linux commenter in this thread. No one wants to hear from you

absolute trash industry, especially when they seem to want to hire one hyper-senior rockstar instead of a couple of normal engineers. good thing we get to do multiple interview rounds before rejection! best of luck to you, eventually someone will need people to make computers go beep again, right..?

It's great, I've been using slsk-batchdl a lot for FLAC versions of various Spotify and YouTube playlists
