Thank you so much, dear Chauncey!!!! And how are you, though?! It’s been forever since we’ve had a chance to catch up. ✨💜✨

I think we have to find a way to make the “frivolous” a quiet political statement against facism. People still need joy and fun even in the midst of end times, right?

Thank you so much for the pep talk! It’s absolutely surreal at the moment, especially considering how excited I am that my nerdy opus is finally coming out. Wild times. Can you share a link to your novel? I’m sorry you had a parallel experience and hope the years since have made up for it!

Is it too late to add my upcoming Much Ado About Keanu: A Critical Reeves Theory to the list? This is the first ever sociocultural deep dive into the one and only Keanu Reeves, from history to queer theory to philosophy, intersectional feminism and so much more. Arriving April 29th! a.co/d/eEhtyiV

Hi Anya! You are so sweet to ask! Honestly, the Amazon preorders are one of the main metrics my publisher uses for gauging interest so if you can order from there it would be amazing. Thank you so much! ✨🙏🏽✨ www.amazon.com/Much-Ado-Abo...

ALEX! I have the happiest tears streaming down my face as I write this! THANK YOU SO MUCH. Your words mean everything to me! Sending the biggest hugs EVER. I’m moved beyond measure. (Also can we organize an authors in conversation event together? So much Keanu horror to discuss!) ✨🖤✨

My Own Private Idaho (1991). This one I *do* recommend everyone watch or rewatch if it’s been a while. Stunning performances from River and Keanu. Extraordinary film, so ahead of its time. ✨🌻✨

My all-time favorite movie: Pascal Laugier’s Martyrs. I’ve only seen it four times since it came out in 2008 and each was its own visceral, memorable event. Not for everyone though. It’s my favorite but I don’t necessarily recommend it to people.

My tees are quite popular with folks, My "Rage Against the Colonizer" design seen in the first pic was worn by George Lopez's Uncle Rude in DC's Blue Beetle! My "Disabled is not a Dirty Word" tee is popular amongst the DisCo as is my "You are Sacred" Tee. johnniejae.com/merch/

I would love that! I’m a Rotten Tomatoes certified film/tv critic with Black Girl Nerds and author of upcoming Much Ado About Keanu: A Critical Reeves Theory (Chicago Review Press), the first ever sociocultural deep dive into his 78 films, and more. Many thanks in advance! ✨🙏🏽✨

It’s actually a Christmas tree ornament but I refashioned it into jewelry, like a good queerdo. ✨😂✨

The Gift is criminally underrated. For everyone involved, including Sam Raimi!

Well you used a Keanu gif which means I would have thrown you a follow if I wasn’t already. Do you have a favorite Keanu film?
