Convinced this is why Kesha is kicking off her tour in Utah next week. Can't wait @kesharose.bsky.social

Shout it from the rooftops: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPUT...

This is a Hall of Fame reader comment on a very reactionary op-ed about Zohran Mamdani's victory that was published in my local paper today.

And here I thought my dog coming down off the anesthesia would be the best part of my day. now it's a tie

25+ million dollars. A former president. Some of the richest people in the US. The entire liberal and conservative political establishment. And Zohran Mamdani — and all the people behind him — beat it all.

"What they fear is not an antisemitic mayor, but one who will symbolize the ongoing collapse of pro-Israel hegemony in the Democratic Party, and perhaps in U.S. politics more generally." Zohran Mamdani is the Democratic nominee for NYC Mayor.

"But remember that this war did not start today...It started in 1953. It started when unchecked American aggression, driven by capital's demand for oil and anticommunism, toppled an Iranian government. Remember that in the days ahead, when our leaders seek to topple another."

death cult-ass society

Donald Trump illegally took military action against Iran—without congressional authorization—risking dragging us into another endless war. I am calling for an immediate emergency session of Congress to vote on the War Powers Resolution.

I am begging people not to look to the NYT for coverage of what's happening. The BBC, Le Monde, Ajazeera and others will have more truthful coverage.

The only people trying to make upholding the constitution the same as "wanting terrorists in America" are your own party.

If you think the pandemic you can’t remember was traumatic, try being one of the few who knows we’re still in one while everyone else pretends it’s over. #COVID #WearAnN95

Van Hollen: This case is not just about one man. It's about protecting the Constitutional rights of everybody who resides in the United States of America.

"In an earlier post, she wrote: "As for the inevitable death, if I die, I want a loud death, I don't want me in a breaking news story, nor in a number with a group, I want a death that is heard by the world, a trace that lasts forever, and immortal images that neither time nor place can bury."

Thank you for taking action. Countless things have come to pass that should have resulted in immediate removal from office. Whatever happens here will stand out among them. If Kilmar is successfully freed: immediate removal. Anything less: immediate removal.

This, from the Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Matty boy caught red handed doing sock puppet shit lol. He is literally too rich to do this shit, why is he doing this and not just paying someone lol

They violated a court order to keep the AP out of the event where they publicly violated a different court order

I think the Ozturk case suggests that 1) yes, Canary is being used to ID students for deportation 2) someone in State is OVERRIDING evidentiary analyses (like the one WaPo reports that said there was no evidence against Ozturk) to sustain Canary "conclusions."

"When mass protests broke out against his policy, Biden repeatedly condemned the activists as violent and antisemitic, responding to outlier actions that didn’t represent the movement. Biden’s slander helped splinter the Democratic coalition, giving Trump a potent wedge issue." shorturl.at/K4cPI

Sec. of State Marco Rubio has written in a memo that Mahmoud Khalil is subject to deportation because “the alien's past, current, or expected beliefs” have “potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequences for the United States.” His position is potential thoughts are grounds for deportation

I would really ask officials to make it very clear What ideas are illegal and why. When ideas become illegal mass death is not far behind

"Like Amazon, but with human beings."

At least 17 international students and recent graduates at the University of Utah have had their visas revoked — receiving letters from President Donald Trump’s administration instructing them to immediately “self-deport.”

Everything is entirely up to conservative media, as it's always been. They are the first movers. The voters follow. Then the politicians.

In Ep 217, "A.I. Mysticism as Responsibility-Evasion PR Tactic," we detail the rise of AI-washing––an increasingly popular media trope that helps those in power avoid responsibility by blaming rogue tech for insurance claim denials, war crimes and rising rents. w/ guest @stevenrenderos.bsky.social

Masking discourse is on again and I’ll just say if you see people masking when few others are it’s likely because they’ve determined that for them, in that setting, the benefit of not catching (or spreading) whatever’s going around is worth the cost of masking. It’s rarely more complicated than that

Who needs April Fool's when people who tell you to wash your hands to prevent airborne illness get promoted to the top positions in the land?

There is this really interesting phenomenon that happens in science communication where the updating of ideas is see as breaking the trust in science rather than a commitment to being accurate

NEW: @aclu.org obtained ICE's "Alien Enemies Act Validation Guide," confirming all it takes to be sent to rot in prison in El Salvador is being Venezuelan and 1) having a tattoo an ICE officer says is a "gang tattoo" and 2) displaying "logos," "symbols" or clothes an ICE officer says are gang signs.

“I insist on being shocked. I am never going to become immune. I think that’s a kind of failure to see so much of it that you die inside. I want to be surprised and shocked every time.” ― Toni Morrison

Look at how these people—these very image-conscious people—want the world to see them.

In Ep 216, "Sunday Morning News Shows and the Problem With 'Agenda Setting' Court Stenography," we examine the strange, somehow-still-influential media artifact, the Sunday Morning News show, and how it poses as a forum for tough questions while dutifully spinning for power. with guest Julie Hollar

I got the news this morning on two COVID related grants that were being terminated because its no longer seen as a research priority by Health and Human Services. My people have been given their notice. I have no words to express my feelings. www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...
