Everything stated in this post is a provable fact. You are entitled to your own opinion. You are not entitled to your own facts. Looking at YOU, 2020 election-deniers.

Food for thought.

I hope you all see my double birds on the way out. That's the final message? F*"( Y*[<=

The video evidence is what I always come back to when I think of Jan. 6. We @propublica.org created this interactive piece of videos that Parler users recorded and uploaded from their own POV that day, and it remains as disturbing today as it was then. projects.propublica.org/parler-capit...

My New Years resolution is what it always has been: Keep learning and growing as a person so that it is easy to accept the things I did not know and unlearn the things that I did.

when you have anti-DEI proponents openly going after black military officers for recruiting from HBCUs and suing schools for their black and Hispanic enrollment *even after the schools ended any racial preferences* then the only honest label for these people is "segregationist"

You don't need to be an expert to know that neither of these people should be allowed anywhere near important decision-making positions.

AOC: “Oh, I don’t think we’re witnessing the START of an oligarchy. I think we are fully here.” 🇺🇸

NEW: Women experiencing pregnancy loss in states with abortion bans told us they wished they had known what to expect and how to advocate for themselves. We created this guide for anyone who finds themselves in the same position. ⤵️

People die refusing ambulance services in America because we don't want to go into lifelong debt and deal with collection agencies if we live. Most of us won't even go in for a routine exam. I haven't seen a dentist in over a decade. I think I'd much rather face your outrage than my reality.

I think a lot about this quote from Anaïs Nin’s diary from 1939-1944: “America is in even greater danger because of its cult of toughness, its hatred of sensitivity, and someday it may have to pay a price for this, because atrophy of feeling creates criminals”.

Lots of clarity today

Because they’re not serious about it, and anyone who thinks they were is naive at best and a compete sucker at worst.

They are the whole damn swamp, and they want to expand the swamp so all of our houses are flooded and not disrupting their view.

Me, a public health person, just sitting over here reflecting on the fact that the US has experienced a 7% increase in infant mortality post-Dobbs. Like, do you realize what that says about this society from an ethical perspective? That we made policy choices that caused this? #PHEthx

Begging everyone who identifies as a leftist or a radical or a progressive to read Vaughn Rasberry’s Race and the Totalitarian Century Liberals should also read it but I know you won’t Yes you can ask your library to get it 📚💙 www.hup.harvard.edu/books/978067...

L.A. Times opinion staffers notify the executive editor that Soon-Shiong has banned criticism of Donald Trump unless its "presented side-by-side with another opinion piece representing the 'opposing view,’" via @oliverdarcy.bsky.social www.status.news/p/patrick-so...

If I talk about common sense gun laws in the aftermath of yet another school shooting, they'll wear AR pins inside of government buildings and rally with the CEO of the NRA. But if I say I dont care about the death of a single CEO, they'll say I lack empathy.

Three incumbent city council members go down in Odessa after they institute a $10,000 bounty on transgender people in bathrooms. This could be a strong rebuke of the acceleration of anti-trans panic in Texas we have seen and are poised to see more of.

⚠️TRIGGER WARNING⚠️ Wait wait wait…. UnitedHealthcare did what now?!?!?🧐😳

We MUST keep vaccines. have you written your Senator to let them know?

Land doesn’t vote. Stop pretending it does.

Rejecting the bad ideas of our opponents is an intellectual value. So is not getting duped into supporting their project becaue they co-opt language (“free speech” “viewpoint diversity”) in order to destroy the very things they purport to support.

NEW: The Montana Supreme Court unanimously told everyone on Wednesday that their state’s ban on gender affirming-medical care for minors would stay blocked for now, thank you very much. It was not, however, an attitude we saw elsewhere today. On this moment, at Law Dork:

There is a growing amount of research that shows that living in a climate of constant racialized violence and structural oppression has detrimental effects on Black health outcomes, regardless of other privileges. I would imagine that the same is true of other marginalized groups.

*Texas doctor & professor points out on tiktok that patients are not legally required to answer citizenship question in order to receive care *Abbott threatens funding of hospital and university *Video is removed These overt threats by politicians to stifle speech becoming all too common.

Just remember that a $60,000 reward is almost $20,000 more than a $20/hr employees yearly salary - and that's not what McDonald's pays most people.

i think it is important to clarify that this — the exclusionary distribution of benefits on some sort of ethnic or national basis — isn’t socialism. it’s, you know, something else.

Please tell your kids, every damn day if necessary, that chatGPT is not a goddamn search engine and you shouldn’t believe a word it says. Tell the adults too, but it’s especially imperative to inoculate kids against this

What Luigi Mangione and some of the responses to his capture tell me is how susceptible we all are to propaganda and how disability, capitalism, and chronic pain isolate us into the worst possible outcome. I can absolutely sympathize with that, to an extent, as someone with a chronic pain condition.

Wild how little Luigi Mangione seems to have in common with the average shooter. Surfed, made friends, lived an idyllic life - then cut everyone off and disappeared. A reminder of how much we don't see in those around us, and how quickly our lives can change www.civilbeat.org/2024/12/luig...
