Yes, if children grow up with this, they do not know it is not normal 😔 In my case, I'd just come out of 10 years in a cult, and control had become my normal. So I didn't spot all the red flag when they first started appearing.

It's not saying abusers never 'roar' or act with overt aggression. It is saying that there are many that don't, and there are many other forms of abuse.
