Black History Month Stories. Today we stick with our "women running mail" theme from yesterday's story and celebrate the first Black woman to make officer in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps who went on to command an all-black postal battalion overseas. This is the story of Charity Adams Earley.

Youtube also has a maximum amount of Uploads per day on "new" accounts that increases every 2 months of uploads even if accounts are verified. This includes exports from Twitch but Youtube wont give an error message. If your Twitch exports to Youtube are failing, this could be why. *Context Below*

Oh sweet and salty Christ…

Let's talk about the @Twitch 100-Hour Highlight Limit and its impact on speedrunning. www.speedrun.com/news/k28oeo5...

Deleting my most viewed highlight, to make room for runs that are more difficult to migrate. 90 highlights remain. Purged out FF4FE and ALTTPR vods, since no one is going to proof call a qualifier on the 2018 main tournament. 230 hours remain.

I let go of my recordings from the FF4 free enterprise tourney I joined in 2019. 5 qualifier races. There’s one surviving video, where I made the restream in a qualifier and came in dead last. Lovely community, but no one ever went back and watched those recordings. Not even me.

This run was probably the most monumental for me, getting started. There were no NA players under 6 hours in 2012, and less than 10 worldwide by EOY 13. Took all year to grind down. But the only existing video is in 6 incomplete highlights, and twitch will otherwise forcefully delete other memories

Twitch is limiting content storage to 100 hours, which is only a little more than a Xenogears playthrough. This is how much I'm going to lose if I don't back up everything before April. All accounts are affected. You'd think they'd at least let Partners have a little more space. Garbage decision.

Yeah, I might have been part of the problem

all this shit just to save on like cents of storage per user like me, such unbelievably cheap fuckfaces. AND IT BLOCKS YOU FROM MAKING NEW HIGHLIGHTS UNTIL YOU MANUALLY GO UNDER. GREAT. THANKS GUYS. i hope twitch management chokes on their piss dude, fuck you.

I’m forced to dive into hundreds of broadcasts now to painfully and slowly transfer my VODs elsewhere. I don’t think they understand how much chaos they’re causing by this change. Poor SRC.

Well, ya'll, adding onto that unfortunate situation, we have some sad news. The days of using Collections on Twitch as playlists will no longer be viable. I have a game plan to port everything from 2019 onward to our VOD channel on YouTube. All of the Reactions will be on my main channel.

you know what the messed up part about this is twitch basically told us "hey, don't get any new PBs/WRs until you back up your stuff hahahaha" absolute joke

Watching a 12 year old, 6 hour long, former personal best speedrun, at double speed, while also downloading a 3 GB copy to re-upload to a mostly dormant YouTube account. AMA.

I am absolutely screwed. This is a good time to mention that I'm going to be starting to upload past VODs on my new VOD channel on youtube: https://buff.ly/3X9b8ht 😭 Devistated that Twitch has only given me 2 months to export and download this.

Black History Month Stories. Black people have been making major contributions to America throughout its existence, and nothing illustrates that like today's story of a man who escaped slavery just to turn around and give his life to protect the nation. This is the story of William Williams

What a fucking joke

LMAO are you fucking serious, Twitch? 14 years of highlights, and I'm expected to somehow get this under 100h? I am almost 60x that limit.

Nine years of my life and job gone. Thanks Twitch.

Hey everyone! If you care about VODs i do have a VOD channel I regulary update featuring minimal editing (audio balance, removing breaks, etc.). Would love to get this to 1000 subs so it can actually be monetized and help me out! www.youtube.com/@kiara_tv_ar...

I don't know when i'll return to streaming - it's been 2 years since getting my passion project into Anime Speedrun Festival. I'll be migrating all 341 hours of personal bests, guides, and tournament vods to Youtube, probably. 13 years on twitch, but my motivation to stream there is gone.

PSA to all speedrunners - PLEASE download and upload all highlights to YouTube. Huge amounts of speedrunning history will be lost if we don't take action. Even if you're under 100 hours, play it safe and download. It's 100 hours for now, but who knows in the future.
