The very same people who drove manufacturing overseas by shopping at Walmart are now the idiots who think tariffs will bring manufacturing back.

“There are already signs that Trump’s economic policies are stamping out the Biden factory boom: During the first quarter of 2025, clean-energy companies on net canceled more construction projects than they had canceled in all of 2023 and 2024” @citizencohn.bsky.social

“Major law firms have bent the knee to Trump—yet the influential Democratic attorneys who work at them keep collecting lucrative paychecks.” open.substack.com/pub/thebulwa...

Let's repeat it for folks in the back. When Bill Clinton cut 300,000 + jobs from the federal workforce, he did it with the APPROVAL of Congress after review and a VOTE! He did NOT illegally take it upon himself to drastically slash entire agencies and programs - with NO plan for continued service.

i am like 80% serious when i say that woke is the only thing that kept this country together

Who did this?

There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers. Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

What happens at the next Treasury auction?

I posted the video over 2 years ago. People thought he was bluffing I guess.

This is going to hurt a lot of people this summer, next winter, next summer ... "A study published in The Economic Journal last year found that roughly 17 percent of U.S. households spend more than one-tenth of their income on energy." www.nytimes.com/2025/04/02/c...

Burn it all to the ground and buy up the land and water and minerals at rock bottom prices. This a fire sale for the oligarchy. How do I know? They’ve already done it to rural America…

Bill Burr is a national treasure 🎯! "You journalists need to get your balls back"

Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

It’s still hard to believe the simple fact that this is all self-imposed. Everything that’s happening right now wasn’t the result of some foreign adversary destroying the country. We did this all to ourselves by electing the dumbest motherfucker to ever rule a nation.

I was thinking that none of those numbers made sense, but holy fuck this is insane

It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory. Even if it's made in the USA , they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs.

FWIW, my general assumption is that most of the public has fairly weakly held views on trade policy and fairly strongly held views on cost of living

Your kid has measles. An airplane just fell in your back yard. Your coworker who is American is in an El Salvador jail. The pentagon is a working group chat. And your boomer parents lost Medicare and social security. America 2025.

More people waking up to the realization they voted for the devil because they didn't bother to understand the details. The devil is always in the details.

One of my Radical Leftist opinions is the government shouldn't be able to deprive anyone of life, liberty, or property without due process of law

This seems ungood. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

I truly hope that one silver lining we take from this coup is that voters begin to understand that when you vote for president, you’re not just selecting one person. You’re selecting all the judges they’ll appoint, and the entire cabinet.

This is soooo bad for North Dakota.

Bad idea.

Donald Trump was the first president in a century to preside over net jobs loss during his first term and unsurprisingly he's picking right up where he left off. Congrats, America.

Finally! We are currently in legislative session trying to appropriate the bills and the budget, but we have not incorporated the Trump chaos. Senator Mathern is such a fighter but also so practical. northdakotamonitor.com/briefs/fargo...
