I don’t know what exactly, but I think there’s something peculiar to football that makes it possible to characterise RM as sly or arrogant when he’s clearly wracked with insecurity and is, if anything, too honest.

This was always likely to happen once the summer transfer window closed. SR should have stuck with Russ but the likes of Bednarek and Sulemana downing tools against Spurs led to a thrashing that made his position untenable.
