American health insurance: teeth are not part of the body

Never forget this: Working people outnumber the billionaires and CEOs by a huge margin. When workers stand together, they win. Solidarity. #MayDay

a formerly enslaved Black anarchist woman led the first American May Day parade in Chicago in 1886 and don’t you forget it!!

May Day Reminder: The Federal Minimum Wage - in the richest country EVER - is still only $7.25/hr. UNACCEPTABLE.

Our rights weren’t given. They were fought for and won by workers who refused to accept dismal working conditions.  On International Workers' Day and every day, the labor movement carries their strength in our fight for worker justice. #MayDay

In a move that raises very serious First Amendment issues, ICE executed a major splashy operation in California aiming to arrest a guy for posting fliers with names, pictures, and apparent phone numbers for ICE HSI agents. I am struggling to think what possible law posting that info could violate.

Today, May 1, is International Workers' Day! It commemorates the sentencing to death of eight anarchist workers in Chicago who were framed for throwing a bomb at police who attacked a strike demonstration in May 1886 shop.workingclasshistory.com/products/the...

Weird, a whole article about Haymarket that doesn't use the word "anarchist" once. Musta been an accident

there was some question as to whether or not this shitty OSINT researcher had been to blame for that strike, it seems exceedingly likely now bsky.app/profile/past...

#OtD 1 May 1867 a general strike broke out for a maximum 8-hour working day in Chicago, Illinois. An 8-hour day had been brought in by law, but employers ignored it. After several days, state militia were deployed, and the strike was crushed stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/8119...

Labor Day is on May 1st and it's honored by workers literally the world over. The U.S. tried to play us with a fake one in September. The working class is global and our liberation is bound up in one other. That reality is as important today as it's ever been. #MayDay

Happy #MayDay everyone. Today (and every day!) we recognize the struggle for workers’ rights that shaped our country’s history. Be sure to find your closest May Day event and show out! www.mobilize.us/mayday/ Art by Madeleine Jubilee Saito

🧵 May 1, International Workers Day, has always been a time to lift up the rights of workers worldwide. But not only have our international programs been illegally terminated by DOGE, worker rights are under attack at home. #IWD #MayDay

On this day in 1886, Lucy Parsons, a Black anarchist born into slavery, marched with her children at the front of one of the largest labor marches in US history, as workers across the country demanded the eight hour day. Two days later, striking workers were shot.

We made a class war reading list for you.

One of our coalition members made a little pamphlet talking the history of May Day. Worth the read :) #mayday #generalstrike #solidarity

it's so fucking funny that all these dipshits think Kneecap of all people are scared by the threat of being locked up you fuckers have no idea who you're messing with

I’ve heard, “Where are the young people in this fight?” a lot. You know what we watched? The first round of Trump. Protests & impeachment didn’t work. Black Lives Matter. Palestine. Roe v Wade being overturned. Protests didn’t fix that either. We’re fighting differently this time. #GeneralStrike

One of my all time favorite Lucas moments was when he and Coppola strong armed Fox to produce movies for Akira Kurosowa and essentially revived his career. Every Kurosowa film we have after 1980 is due to Lucas and Coppolas standing up for their fellow artist.

hey LA pirate people, if you have a way to get to 936 seward and can save some of this stuff from getting destroyed via weather exposure there are film nerds all over the world who would love you forever

📣 Kneecap statement repost from X:

New Executive Order dropping tomorrow

They want to beat fascism, by embracing fascist ideas... Moving right has worked so well for them so far, success will come eventually, right? 🫩 Incompetents trying to beat incompetents at their own game. That's party politics. That's #Democrats We need real #liberation!

I wish you all the best in stepping up here, Europe.

Our Racist-in-Chief signed an EO calling for the dismantling of the Civil Rights Act. Congress may be passive but we are not. The showdown will be in the streets. If you haven't, sign up with a local action group or national effort like Indivisible or 50501. Tyrants must be overthrown.

If one quote from a insurance exec ever summed up the American healthcare experience, this might be that quote: www.propublica.org/article/blue...

The NPR public editor announcing that she’s gonna usher in the fascism with care

“It is not that America lacks courage. It is just that we’ve become so cut off from one another - so atomized and isolated - that many of us feel alone. That loneliness makes us feel vulnerable and fearful.” A strike requires community. People to rely on. It seems hard now, but we WILL get there.

"Language framing autism as a 'chronic disease,' a 'childhood disease' or 'epidemic' distorts public understanding and undermines respect for autistic people." This is a lesson many journalists need to learn, as too much of the coverage of RFK, Jr. uses his framing as the basis for stories.

How people don’t look around at all of their friends leaving them in the wake of their rampant transphobia and think “maybe I’m the problem” is beyond me

Lol. Remind me what party decided to remove the word "transgender" from every government website, deleted all health data about transgender people, and sought to censor all research done on transgender healthcare? There is a party waging a war on science, and it's certainly not "the left."

There are somewhere between five and seven Justices whose presumption of good faith on the part of the Trump administration has now been thoroughly blown. We have to wait and see to find out what that means, but hard for me to believe it means nothing.

I'm quite comfortable with abolishing deportations and giving every immigrant and refugee a home and food and education and a job and safety, and if you object on the basis that we don't give citizens those things, my answer is simply that we should be giving those things already.

The murmurs of a #GeneralStrike are growing. At the 50501 protest today in Chicago, I ran into two groups of people already talking about a general strike before I even handed them flyers for @generalstrikeus.bsky.social ! Also met some cool people from @chicago-cata.bsky.social 😊

Poorly photoshopped tattoo pictures. Fake margaritas added to a photo op. A demand letter accidentally sent to Harvard. Nonsensical tariff stats and formulas. We’re losing our democracy to the dumbest mother fuckers ever.

Happening now: it's No Kings Day and Chicagoans are joining protesters across the country for another 50501 organized action. Several hundred have gathered downtown at Daley Plaza. The handmade sign game is, as usual, A+.

I know this ain’t new, but if you haven’t watched Harlan County USA recently, set aside some time for it. We got nothing to lose but our chains, and this movie is a great reminder of the power of organizing against authoritarianism

For the 142th consecutive night, Rustaveli avenue is blocked. ✅ #GeorgiaProtests continue—and at times, they feel like they’re even growing in size and determination.

Assuming this post today is aimed at us. The Trump admin changed the rules to make it easier to replace career federal employees with political loyalists. If you’re not alarmed by Trump’s post, you should be. This isn’t about policy it’s about control. It’s “do as I say, or you’re replaced.”

Guys, I love all of you, but the answer to RFK, Jr. is not that autistic adults hold jobs, pay taxes, and get laid, it's that everyone deserves to live even if they can't work, pay taxes, or get laid.

I have three bottles of champagne set aside. One for her, one for the oligarch, and one for the dictator. And I intend to live to drink all three.

it’s a start

shitposting their way into a constitutional crisis, i guess

Demanding "due process" for these people is already a concession; there is no process that justifies deportation to an overseas black site concentration camps. Don't demand due process; demand that they come home.
