I've done a lot of research into various Healthcare systems in different countries [and I mean real research, like looked at plans and actual "lived experiences" in addition to peer reviewed stuff] and while nothing is perfect, all of them seemed a heck of a lot better than what we're doing here

I've wondered for years why medical plans don't include dental coverage--why they're separate. I will say that the most recent health coverage card from my employer does list all my health insurance coverage--medical, dental, vision (yes, eyes aren't part of the body, either, I suppose...).

Dentures are centuries old we should just be giving implants to people that need them instead it’s “cosmetic”. Ridiculous. It’s same for me most of my life with my ocular disorder. My scleral lenses are hard to get paid for because contacts are “cosmetic” even tho I can barely see with glasses.

In the US, health issues with eyes are covered by insurance, just not preventative care and vision correction (glasses, contacts). Which should be covered! But it’s much better than the teeth situation.

It’s supposed to be that way, but my wife got passed back and forth like a hot potato for days from vision to medical for an eye infection that both insisted had to be treated by the other. I think she was on the phone for at least 15 hours and then we just prayed to not get a bill.

A botched root canal sent me to the ER and the endodontist couldn’t be bothered to take fault so there goes thousands of dollars and all my trust in the dental profession. Which has led me down a road of pain and anxiety I can’t afford bc someone needed a yacht with a helicopter pad. I hate this!
