Honestly, I'm not.I didn't vote Labour in the last election or a number of elections before that. They do have policies that I vehemently disagree with and am disappointed in. Not withstanding all that, it's still just wrong to say they are as bad as the last government...in my opinion, of course.

Honestly, he is better. To say he's not is objectively ridiculous. I'm not saying it isn't disappointing that he won't address this issue but saying he's as bad as that idiot/serial liar/dishonest charlatan and worse is just plain daft. By the way, I didn't vote Labour at the last GE.

Rip the plaster off now! Just get it nationalised and be done with it. If it falls into public ownership, creditors should follow the money, pursuing those responsible, not the government. Although, I'm not an economist and I'm sure it's more complex than that!

There are many broadcasters, plenty with more years of experience, who could do with taking a leaf out of Lewis Goodall's book. Most choose to ignore the obvious when interviewing utter hypocrites like Jenrick and allow them to whitewash their reputations. Well done, Lewis.

I'd no idea the Alexander Armstrong was enough of an idiot to voice this ridiculous opinion on VAT on private school fees.I had quite liked him, although did wonder about his political affiliations. However,I chose to believe the best.Sadly, I was obviously wrong. He's gone way down into estimation.

This is the kind of thing that needs to be seen widely in the public domain. It's madness and I'm sure most people would be really alarmed if they saw it. Unfortunately, most of the public will never see this or realise the malign influence these organisations have on policy.

We should be reforming the prison system, not continually putting more people in jail for longer and longer sentences. Recidivism v rehabilitation. I know which I'd prefer.By all means build new prisons to replace ones that are in a disgraceful state but the prison population needs to fall, not rise.

They still have biscuit?!! Our council stopped giving tea/coffee and biscuits years ago...start of austerity. Teachers, rushing to a two or three hour twilight development session after a day in class no longer got even a jug of water. Admittedly, a first World problem but still very annoying. 🙄

Thanks. I was a natural labour voter but voted to SNP after Brexit. I might have returned in the last GE but just feel that they are pandering to red wall voters & ignoring people like me, slightly left of centre. I think they will be punished in Scotland, although Reform seem to be rising here. 🙄

I really believe we need to see someone prosecuted and jailed before the message gets through. And I don't mean lower management. It's got to be someone at the top. They set the bar for standards and behaviour. They are ultimately responsible for this (literal) shit show.

I feel impatient too. It's utterly shameful that a country claiming to be the 6th richest in the world (or there abouts) can have so many homeless people. It's truly disgusting. However, the reversal of 14 years of neglect can't happen in a short time. It needsto happen over this parliament though.

Unfortunately, you pointing out the whole truth will likely only reach more informed people, sadly. Farage will continue to reach the gullible, the ill-informed and those who could be better informed but choose not to be (in my opinion).

Ofwat, like many of our regulators, are both compromised and useless. We keep allowing these water companies to scam us whilst the regulator appears to have a less than challenging relationship with them. Scottish water is not privatised but we still pay taxes to Westminster so I feel invested.

Sadly, I haven't had any success with this. Is there a trick to it. I've put in several random sentences which I thought might make good idioms, but no AI interpretation has appeared. Usually it's top of result...but not today. 🙄🤣

Hungary needs to be either suspended or ejected from the EU. They don't uphold EU principles.
Also, whilst we're at it, the UK government needs to make explicit efforts to at least align with the EU more closely. Preferably they should be repairing the damage and seeking a customs union.

Why are these people so obsessed with the private business of other people? No-one is asking any of them to do something they are against. All they need to do is mind their own business. It's not hard. If they want to object and debate, do it where vulnerable women don't have to run their gauntlet.

I don't understand...how can we be MADE to buy chlorine washed chicken?! Surely if we don't want it and there's not a demand for it, end of story. I know there'll end up being a place for it, unfortunately, due to pricing but it can't be forced on us.

Attempting to impose their beliefs on women through intimidation & trying to shame them isn't acceptable. No-one is asking any of them to have an abortion. They have that right to choose. They are welcome to disagree with abortion per se but get out of the faces of women exercising their own rights.

All the right wingers do this. They just railroad over the reporter/interviewer, keeping talking, talking, talking. I think it must be in a training manual. Almost all Tory ministers in our last UK Government did this, as do Reform politicians. It drives me up the wall! She's unbelievable.

I don't understand this. What is a 'civil' prisoner & why is he considered one? Isn't he in prison for contempt? Is that a civil offence? I'd never heard of this before. Are there a lot of these type of prisoners, & do they all get treated the same way? So many questions.🤔 Better do some research!!

Supplication. 🤷♀️ Maybe it needs to be done but I don't know. It feels wrong & pathetic. I don't want us to be associated with this fascist regime. We should cut our losses and move back towards the EU. If we stick close to the US as it stands, we'll just get screwed. They are currently untrustworthy.

'Most convicts are guilty' is a nonsensical argument. Some, albeit a few, are also innocent. Do we just leave them to rot in jail? Where is their justice? BTW, I'm not saying that I think she's innocent/guilty, I just think this argument is a very poor one. Wrongful convictions should be rectified.

Stephen, I love your work & have been reading you books since I was 14 (1976). I understand the heinous crime he committed but state sanctioned murder is not the answer. Even if his crime is without defence, in civilised society we should be better than this. Maybe I misunderstood ur comment though.

Barbaric. I am ideologically opposed to state sanctioned murder. Civilised societies don't engage in this type of punishment regardless of the crime committed. And if you can't get behind that, surely the knowledge that innocent people WILL die at some point, should be enough to sway you... surely?

Richard Tice was in Scotland yesterday...or today, to welcome two councillors defecting from the selfservators. He couldn't give their surnames or the council they were in. He gave the Scottish Daily Mail journalist the brush off when he asked reasonable questions. Yes, Daily Mail...but Scottish.
