Good point. That would save me money on the Dartford Crossing…
Except that I ride a motorbike and wouldn’t have to pay anyway…

Well, it’s only 270 miles…
I’d hoped for Radcliffe or Altrincham.

The vile twerp whom I have muted has spent the day harassing other people who dare to have a discussion.

And more. You truly are a horrendous specimen. You have spent the day trying to offend people.

More evidence that you are an arse.

I think you are being an arse. It’s a discussion. Many of us do currently listen to classical music. It’s a vibrant scene. The BBC Proms sell out a large arena for many nights every summer, often with a couple of thousand people standing too.
He has not clearly referenced anything at all.

Kraftwerk’s music includes significant rock and roll elements— I’m fairly sure that one or both of Hutter and Schneider referred to the “fahr’n fahr’n fahr’n auf der Autobahn” as a reference to the Beach Boys who were very much influenced by black music.

You posted online. On social media. That, implicitly, is to ask for opinions.
Now, please tell me how Brahms was influenced by black music.

It would not end good private insurance. Nothing would stop people continuing to pay for it. We still have private health insurance in the UK.

This is great. Right up until you don’t have health insurance because your chronic illness means you no longer have the job.
Or to put it another way, “I’m alright Jack”.

London has a murder rate which is approximately a quarter that of New York City. www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopula...

Seattle, Marseille, Boston, Kaunas, San Diego, Klaipeda, San Jose, Toronto, Montreal, Istanbul, Hong Kong…
All of those cities (and more) have a lower murder rate.

What measure are you using for “safest city”? By life expectancy, New York City appears to be about the same as London and Berlin.

It’s important to recognise that, in the UK for example, a person can pay much less than in the USA for private medical insurance which skips those waits. We pay nothing for routine medical care and for critical care. We can skip any queues for less than an American pays for their routine care.

When I needed urgent treatment for sepsis I was seen at A&E within twenty minutes. This cost me nothing.

All healthcare systems have problems and I will never suggest that the NHS is perfect.
However, anyone who is not conscious and not breathing can expect paramedics within 15 minutes in the UK. Significant blood loss will get treatment in a similar time frame.
This is free at the point of use.

You keep using that phrase “you sound like”.
You keep projecting meanings onto me.
You *are* a hypocrite.

Discussion helps people to understand alternative views. “No platforming” strengthens extremists. Your heart is in the right place but the attitudes of such as you help to make trans lives harder.
You haven’t posted a single word that actually engages in debate at all.

Some of the greatest victims of con artists are people who consider themselves very confident. Con artists rely on that confidence.

Also, yes, I read the article. I also read other sources. You dislike discussion and debate. That’s fine. It does not give you the right to shut down discussion. I would urge you to consider that when you shut down discussion, you end up only amplifying the *most toxic* voices.
comment in response to

If human rights are not up for debate, why does Liberty exist as a campaign group? Trans rights are indeed human rights. I agree with you on this. Assuming that all people who express dissatisfaction with their identity are trans is not helpful.
You find this incredible. OK. That’s a you problem.
comment in response to

Absolutely everything can be debated. Refusing to allow debate encourages an entrenchment of conservative views.
I can see how people are hurt by all sorts of things, hence I have no need to unfollow you.
