From a different POV...so does the US not compete contracts anymore? Does Elon get to perform all Gov requirements & services at whatever cost? Where is the $ coming from? Who manages, tests, accepts?

Sense of identity and place is complicated and that's OK. We may not all change countries but many of us live in different places from where we were born or from where our parents were born. It's all part of the rich tapestry of who we are.

It isn't a surprise to me that this article seems to have been written by a man. The author seems unaware of how common this kind of thing is. It is no surprise to me that Rayner didn't recall those particular messages. She's probably received 1000s of such messages.

No, that is not insulting but many of the replies call them stupid or idiots. There is no evidence those people voted for him. The only thing we know is they were surprised their MP voted to remove work protections. Very few citizens follow the details of Parliamentary bills or voting records.

Just a quick note in reply to some comments: we don't know how the people in this video voted, or indeed if they voted; all we know is they are his constituents.
Insulting ordinary people isn't going to help; it's just going to drive people towards the likes of Reform, which pretends to care.

I wonder if there has been a bit of fatigue after X. I used to tweet all the time and join in all the silliness. But then X imploded and now I can't quite get the enthusiasm to get so invested again, esp with the I-am-so-smart replies. I'm putting humorous observations in family WhatsApp instead.

"As a former X (formerly Twitter) employee... I was part of a team that was directly ordered to manipulate Twitter's systems to influence the 2024 US presidential election. It wasn't subtle, and it wasn't ethical...1/3

If people are living at their office then they would be working from home.

It's weird but I never even thought about what it sounds like til I read your post. It's just such a common word that I don't think any Brit would have had any reaction at all - other than why is everyone ganging up on Freddie; these faithful don't have glue what's going on! Is the US series good?

It's just a really normal UK English word. It means like petty or low-level annoying, like someone might say 'have you got a bad back?' and you might reply 'not too bad, it's just a bit of a niggle'. Or you might say 'I've got a niggling feeling something isn't right'.

Thank you Petra. This post about tidying your workspace spoke to me. My little office at home ended up even more cluttered over Christmas because I put a few extra bits of clutter in here out of the way while we had visitors here. You've inspired me to work on decluttering tomorrow.
