I wouldn't at all be surprised to see a widespread international boycott of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics if things keep going the way they are now. Maybe attended only by Russia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Hungary, Belarus and a few other like-minded autocracies

That bite was in Nov. 2024. Americans missed the apple and bit their own hand instead

Maybe you answered it in this post of yours? bsky.app/profile/mcop...

But who are they going to blame for that pain? Remember they are living in right-wing disinformation bubble and will hear it is the fault of the Ds, immigrants, trans people etc. Anyone but Trump

If they didn't care enough to get off their duffs and vote in the 2024 election given all the noise about it and what was at stake, it's hard to see what could motivate them

I didn't say no opposition. I am saying pick and choose your battles, and time it wisely / strategically. If you lose your sh!t over every little thing, you won't be taken seriously about the big stuff

Also people seem to forget the Ds lost the 2024 election. THE HAIR-ON-FIRE / "TRUMP IS A FASCIST" MESSAGE DID NOT WORK. Americans apparently don't care about that stuff. Elections have consequences. The only way the electorate will "get it" is when bad things start happening to them, unfortunately.

While the Ds are in the minority, the Rs are going to do stuff like that anyways, no matter how much the Ds scream about it. And MAGA LIKES it when actions lead to liberal tears and hysteria. As to Carville, I am not necessarily a huge fan, but I agree with him on this.

I mean, I hate to say it but the Europeans have had three years to figure it out if they wanted to, and at some point in there they should have realized there was a decent chance Trump was coming back to "fix" it (in Russia's favor) if they couldn't

Ooh, filing a FOIA request! I'm sure they'll get right on responding to that😆

I keep wondering this too. I don't think Trump will want to run again but the Rs will ensure there will be no D POTUS any time soon through things like more extreme gerrymandering, voter suppression laws and continued Fox / social media disinformation indoctrination

Hijacked?? "The people" voted for it! This is who we are now.

Wow he sure has gone all-on with the cult. “I look back on January 6 as [part of] The Madness of the Pandemic. The lockdowns created an atmosphere of near collective madness. Things were pretty crazy on both sides.” Ah, it was the pandemic. And "both sides" were crazy. 😶

As much as I hate it, it seems like they are just being rational businesses responding to the results of the election. They have concluded, probably correctly, that a significant portion of their customer base supports Trump, and that a sizeable majority doesn't care, so why alienate them?

Do you realize this sounds like the MAGA gameplan?

No doubt he'll try to get rid of that pesky French language thing pretty quickly.

Doesn't that let the people who DID vote for him off the hook?

Who promised you stability with Trump as President??

I remember feeling this way when Reagan was elected. And even more when he was re-elected

Those sound like questions Musk and Trump are asking right now

Bro needs a bra. Actually they both do

I say DO IT! The ensuing disaster should help the Ds regain control of the House in the 2026 elections

You are playing into his hands. He knows he can't do this and that any such efforts will get struck down by the courts. But then he can say he tried and "Ds support anchor babies!!" Classic Ron DeSantis move: propose something he knows will not be successful just to rile up the MAGA base.
