Today's gobsmack: none of my classmates in my university class have heard of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". Not one. 🤯🤯🤯

Here in the midlands of South Carolina, today is the equinox - the sun rose at 7:33 am and will set at 7:33 pm. So happy equinox to all, whenever yours happens to be.

Yay telephoto lens! I got some excellent shots of "our" mated pair of red-tailed hawks. They love hanging out in one of the tall trees behind our house.

Sometimes you just have to say “fuck you” with a flourish

Mr & Mrs Red-tailed Hawk! Our first sight of them together this year. They love this tallest tree in the woods behind our house.

Today's word from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows... Particularly apt in these troubled times.

Meanwhile, over in the Metaverse, people are finding that they now follow various members & accounts in the new administration, w/o their knowledge or consent. Cheeky, to say the least, to assume that if I followed the last president that I want to follow this one. Or his VP, or his wife, etc, etc.

Live music tonight... Ranky Tanky at the Newberry Opera House.

School starts tomorrow! This term I'm taking collage and mixed media (U of SC). You're saying What? An old person taking college classes? Why yes, in SC if you are over 60 you can take classes at any state school for no tuition. This is my 6th academic year.

Dear World, We’re sorry. Sincerely, Sane, Decent Americans

Continuing on my homemade ink journey: blueberry. I love this blue-on-the-violet-side color.

I was hoping for a lovely veggie dish as part of my dinner tonight, and in fact the veggies are quite nice. But sadly, the promised packet of roasted garlic sauce, to be set aside then drizzled on at the end, was missing. So I had to improvise. @eathaks

Absolutely.

My first little abstract experiment with homemade copper/blue, rose petal, and acorn inks.

Christmas gift from my husband, who knows me so well 😆

Campbell’s witty response to this homophobe makes me want to enjoy some of their delicious chicken noodle soup right now! 🍜 🏳️‍🌈

Almost midpoint on the copper/blue ink - after 9 days it has a distinct blue tint. It has almost 2 weeks to go.

I'm trying the cranberry ink again, now that I have a better grasp of the process.

Hey, at least they’re giving the land a vote in their maps—finally, representation for dirt and trees!
