It also looks a lot less dizzingly high than the bridge near Booterstown Ave .... Surprising that the Galway plan doesn't include bridges, given the number of bridges on Dublin roads built when, I think, we had less money.

Nephews and nieces doing the offertory like everyone else would have spoken volumes, and touched so many... representative of the funerals in 2020 and 2021 when circumstances meant it couldn't happen, and the value of extended family.

3 The report mentions mother's going in a holiday while their children were looked after in the hostel. The attitude to mothers and babies was seen as an example of how to treat people with dignity and respect that other homes could follow. Physical conditions should have been better, clearly.

2 Mothers are quoted as preferring it because they were free to be themselves, have a smoke, make a cup of tea. Children were happy - some accidents recorded occurred because children were allowed to be children in a place where boiling water and cooking could be an issue.

1 The Legion of Mary wanted to provide for mothers and their children, ensure they could raise them. The report rightly highlighted criticism of Frank Duff's stubborn fixation on volunteerism casting problems for the provision of consistent health care and quarantining, proper funding and buildings

I must confess to needing to resist the temptation to try the doll thing - just keep reminding myself of all the water energy used.

We don't recover. We learn to hide, often behind substance use and abuse.

diagnosis of autism as woman who does not meet the stereotypes, commentary like this added to my sense of maybe being a fraud. But it is on a societal level, this will impact people's support and acceptance of ND people, when there is still a fight for just a basic level of understanding

Small corner of set-asise on the family farm at the edge of the old bog that was easy to get to.....fast forward a couple of years, it's very difficult to get past the birch

Part of repentance includes taking responsibility and making amends, if you can, doing the work of penance, which isn't limited to reaching out beyond the self, reflection and chanting/saying your three Hail Marys, and attempting to do better.

While the fathers continue as they are, unaware that they themselves share their children's traits.... In some cases, at least

I taught in an autism class, in a school with 4 classes for 3 years, about 19 years ago, we had access to an SLT, had a rhyme for speech. Last 10 years as a Mum wondering why advice in support for autistic or dyspraxic students is so limited, doesn't even mention tongue twisters, or other methods

Support includes mindset - even those with 'support' may struggle if it is inappropriate, if they are underestimated, if they are micromanaged, if they are misunderstood, if mutual understanding between peers is not facilitated, and it may take a very long time for them to be OK if this happen

Green area nearby, plenty of potential for native planting....but bushes....antisocial behaviour and littering....gets sorted....more pleasant, no littering, teens hanging out there mannerly, don't object to 'put rubbish in the bin'...

..and, perhaps a willingness to consider that that apple doesn't fall far from the tree.... especially the men, who seem slower to acknowledge these things ..... While the Mammy's and the Aunties and the sisters and the sisters in law all begin to notice

And for family and friends to simply be there, and not makes assumptions, either, whether it's high support needs and a non-speaking child, or low support needs. Whether there are services or there aren't - people need both services and community....

It begins with mindset - of professionals, family, friends. The professionals presuming competence, not making assumptions, or putting limits on possibility, on friednship - even on bilingualism and the Irish language especially when spoken words don't come and it seems a child might not understand.

Hard Times...I wonder would this be why some would suggest we don't study the classics and mid 20 century writing...people might get ideas from the likes of Dickens, James Plunkett and Frank O'Connor
