I for one feel sad that the last public figure meeting the Pope had before dying was this one

Yes, the stock market may be tanking and our national security apparatus has never been more vulnerable and we're on the verge of both economic collapse and war, but it was all worth it to keep pronouns out of email signatures.

I got lazy using Amazon. No more. Buying directly from businesses, using Costco on-line, local small businesses and my wonderful public library for books. No more Kindle. It feels good and I will continue.

Sigh. We tried to warn them.

I am a climate scientist and this is correct ⬇️

A teeny weeny 2% tax on Britain’s super rich would raise £24 billion. Think of all the good we could with a sum like that - and it would only ever so slightly make the tax system more fair - plenty of room for improvement after that.

I don't understand the political timidity when it comes to regulating social media. These are companies that have decimated the free press, fuelled race riots on our streets, undermined the mental health of our children, paid little tax and are now undermining liberal democracy itself.

Some telltale signs can indicate whether they're ready for their trash can funeral.

After extensive review, France has established very positive gender affirming care guidelines, and they’ve rejected the highly politicized Cass Report as simply false. www.lgbtqnation.com/2024/12/new-...

This is not a smart man.

Can't believe I was thinking about turning off DMs today.

President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100. He was a symbol of what is best about America: kindness, compassion, duty and service. He will be missed, most of all by those who long for a return of that kind of country, led by a man with such strength of character.

I’m not in a very charitable mood with them either, to tell the truth.

Folks, we're living in a Second Gilded Age. It can be easy to feel discouraged, but the First Gilded Age teaches us lessons on how we can fight back. Watch.

Thanks to the Republican Congress, and a tsunami of lies from Musk and others, the only US agency dedicated to tracking and exposing Russian and Chinese propaganda around the world ceases to exist www.france24.com/en/live-news...

Judith Butler, philosopher: ‘If you sacrifice a minority like trans people, you are operating within a fascist logic’ A leading figure in feminism and gender studies, now voted one of the most influential minds in the world… english.elpais.com/culture/2024...

I had polio when i was 9. I was taken from my parents & placed in a Hospital for contageous diseases- the polio ward. I would see them once a week - thru the glass window at the end of my ward. I could not walk. It was terrifying. Kids died. Iron lungs were awful. Dont let RFK Jr ban the vaccine

imagine a country so furious about drag performers that it voted for polio

I’m sorry, but if you need to fact-check an interview with your Person of the Year to this degree, maybe you should have picked someone who is not a liar and a con man. [time.com]

WATCH: At least 10 gun industry businesses, including Glock, Smith & Wesson, Remington and Mossberg, secretly handed over names, addresses and other data to lobbyists, who used the details to rally firearm owners to elect pro-gun politicians. 📽️: @josesepulveda.bsky.social 📰: Corey G. Johnson

I will never forgive Bloomberg news for normalizing Trump and giving him a HUGE platform by interviewing him on October 15. Can you please RT and follow us so we can overtake them them on Bluesky? This will be a huge victory for new media. 💙🙏

I'm totally OK with being called woke. It just means that I'm showing off my green flags. Happy to follow others with green flags. #woke

Something to keep in mind.

150 billionaire families spent $1.9B on the 2024 election through October. It's a huge amount of money — but it represents just 0.07% of their overall wealth. It essentially costs them nothing to drown our democracy in cash. We must get big money out of our politics.
