Honestly, this is the best explanation I've heard so far.
It's more believable than, "people are ultimately greedy and selfish and therefore being greedy and selfish is a moral good" somehow convinced millions of people to vote against their own interests. Cuz that makes no sense.

Seasons are a lie from very few specific places in Northern Europe which were then spread with colonization.
I think an important step to fixing some colonialism trauma would be to create seasons for where you live, that actually make sense.
