I’m thinking it was every starving person who looked at anything (eggs in your case, snails in mine) and thought “I reckon it’s worth a crack, what do I have to lose?”, or “Protein. Just think of it as protein”.

My southland grandmother would make scones for the shearing gangs. I can’t imagine them being particularly dainty or satisfied with parsimonious carbs. Mum remembers measures like jugs of flour.

Proudboyz? Or just Nobz?

Perhaps if you have a spare base just go nuts pushing contrast and making up areas of light and dark. It’s a fun exercise regardless!

Small strokes of dark w highlight right beside it just to break up areas of solid colour. Just adds areas of interest, and it wouldn’t need to go overboard. I’ve seen it work on armour plates and I reckon it would be a nice addition for the base.

Concentrate on the contrast/value? Darken the shades and add a little more highlight? Even painting in scratches to bump up the light/dark differences would look pretty cool, and doesn’t require extensive add ons that will mess with composition

I know what you mean, but looking at it I feel that the simple base and the standard almost frame the model and keep the focus tight on the (very nicely painted) miniature. I’d be inclined to make any changes minimal.

Nah, you’re part of the extended funeral folk family. I know what we are like.

Was a chef, now an undertaker, and dabbled in commission painting. It’s completely normal to change, and I wouldn’t be surprised to have other jobs in my future

Of all the politicians in nz, he is the only one who has grasped the implications of MMP. Don’t go for power, but be the one who decides who gets to have power. And have them owe you for it. He has always been a leaf on the wind.

Having to let the American public know exactly how much he has benefited might be awkward, even for him.

I can’t find the article I read, but apparently there is a requirement that special advisors have to give full financial disclosure after serving for 130 days. I’m guessing he doesn’t want to do that

I was told by my maths teacher that if I wanted to do maths then I shouldn’t bother because I wouldn’t pass. It seemed to be a common thing in that school: don’t do my subject because you will fail. The takeaway was don’t bother, you’re dumb. I wonder what I might have been with different teachers.

It’s funny you should say that, I was thinking it was like roleplayers on a “Parliaments and Putsches” campaign. Had very similar energy. They seemed very into it, taking on roles that they had a vague idea of how they actually worked.

It honestly sounded like they were a bunch of folk role-playing. Parliaments & Putsches, or something. And getting reeeeally into it.

Definitely. I loved reading the expanse, but the series with her casting made it even better.

Living in a share house that had a LOT of drop ins. My wife to be had met one of those people in Thailand and came to visit about a year later. I was a mess, but she must have seen something in me. 26 years later she still makes me want to be better and to make her proud. I owe her everything.

7-Up salad is a thing I saw in an Elvis cookbook. Right up there with a recipe for squirrel. Let’s see how committed they are to the concept.

Billions of dollars for a substandard google search, and no tangible product. I’m kind of surprised that more haven’t run away from it. I’m guessing no one wants to be the first to blink

Since he has had a dislocated sense of humour since the womb, it’s hardly surprising he finds this name a bit of a wheeze.

I’ve been doing overtime (a lot of overtime), so I think a nice reward would be to pick this up for a weekend read. Wonderful to see NZ fantasy so nicely reviewed! Fingers crossed it will be at Scorpio books

Please forgive me if I’m missing something here, but doesn’t Tesla stock resemble bitcoin in this way? The value of it is what you sell it to the next person for? I’m not au fait with a lot of crypto knowledge but this is what it boils down to in my mind.

I’ve got a terrible suspicion that labour shortages will be filled by contracted labour from prisons. My understanding (from an overseas perspective) is that certain large US companies and organisations are quite fond of going down this route. I really hope this isn’t the case.
