The Fixer has a point, by MY point is: the gutter has had terrible paving for at least 25 years. I know because of biking the route that long. Now that it's a bike lane, for the love of all good things, please repave entirely, and please re-level the various manholes and grates. Thank you!

You literally could: “Maybe somebody says, ‘If I can get it [the Zellers brandname] for $1, maybe I’ll try something with it and open a diner called Zellers or something,’” Boutet mused.

Back in the early 1990s, I had a friend who was into tech (early internet, etc) and told me that smartphones were coming and what they'd be like. I foolishly did not believe him at the time.

Lifetime Toronto resident. Protecting the Wheat Sheaf makes sense while it still operates as a bar, but then the protection can expire? That intersection will soon have a subway and two busy streetcar lines. It doesn't need a small building on the corner forever, no matter how storied.

Canadian Chicago (Toronto) has been redeveloping its waterfront for ages, emphasizing parks but also dense housing, universities/colleges, office space, active transit, regular transit, and supporting businesses. We learned from Chicago to get people and activity lakeside year-round. It's good!

Should be a pedestrian/cycling bridge over the eastern gap, linking to the Martin Goodman Trail and Cherry Beach, right about here

"radical incrementalism" amirite? 😂

Is the entrance pictured on Eastern or the DVP? Either way, most pedestrian traffic is going to be on Broadview (where the transit/bike infra is) and towards the new towers (where the destinations are). Those designs seem much more important.

It's embarrassing how many times I have watched this documentary on Netflix - never gets old

He’s been working on Texas HSR for Amtrak with input from Japan. Get him working in HSR Toronto to the border, as a provincial add-on to Alto!

It appears the PCs lost every riding traversed by the bloor/danforth and university/yonge bike lanes

Things are not clear around places the city should be responsible for, like long stretches of sidewalk alongside city parks, and the downtown King St streetcar stops. Just this morning, an elderly guy with a rollator at my streetcar stop was worried about *young’uns* wiping out on ice

Just as the Ontario Line was a necessary precursor of the Yonge extension, the Sheppard line east-west expansion must be completed before starting the 401 tunnel. Right? Please say that's right...

Collingwood needs an Ontario Northland train, not a GO train #ProveMeWrong

Just finished watching a long series on nuclear weapons and the Cold War, ending with the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, and it's a real reminder of what a big deal this "joke" could end up being, because of nuclear capabilities and the history of Canada having won the last go-round 200+ years ago

People are going to lose their minds if Collingwood gets rapid transit before Scarborough! :)

It’s not exactly small but I got a Blueair during the pandemic for my office and it’s nice. Maybe check out Wirecutter www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/r...

Are we really going to let him leave without enjoying: - 100+ year streetcar lines stuck in traffic - advance signal priority in dedicated transit lanes, not turned on for 30 years - two finished LRT line, vacant - gorgeous bike lanes in peril Let’s shame our leaders internationally

Have seen kids on Tri-Rail mount their bikes while still on the bike car, cycle out the train doors, down the train stairs, down the platform, and off somewhere. Unsafe and against the rules, but ... sure looked fun!
