Artificial intelligence. Snake oil bullshit generator, a tool to be used, or a threat to journalism? Or maybe all of the above?

I am Irish. Being born in Liverpool doesn't make me less Irish than someone born in Dublin. Parents returned to Ireland when I was 3. The UK government believes I am British having been born in UK before 1981 Act. I have a lifelong overseas vote in UK elections & referenda.

EU public procurement policy has guidance on choosing suppliers who foster gender equality, inclusion etc.
EU states like Ireland are big buyers of services supplied by US companies.
The key enforcer of European values in Ireland is the Dept of Public Expenditure & Reform who choose suppliers.

Fortunately this is the European Union. The EU public procurement framework has plenty of options for government to reject tenders from organisations that do not support European values - for example, human rights, inclusion and equality etc.

Fiodhchait = a mouse trap (lit. 'a wooden cat') 😁 Níos fearr ná 'gaiste luch' sa Nua-Ghaeilge?
Tá an stoc chéanna proto-celtic ag 'fiodh' agus an focal 'wood' i mBéarla.

*The HSE was 6% of GDP in 2022. Not a choice between 'Economy' or 'Health service' during COVID. They are the same thing.
*165,000km of electric lines, x4 the per-capita average in Europe = >vunerability to weather. Not a generation issue.
*Abandoning culchies like me is a political failure.

Tiny Gigha in the Western Isles has had its own community windfarm since 2004. And on a budget too - they 3 bought wind turbines second hand. Astonishing that the Arran Islands, Inish Boffin, Tory et al still get their power from the outside.
