Yeah, here each province/territory set their own sales tax and either have seperate provincial sales tax and goods and service tax, or a combined harmonized sales tax. It's weird. First Nations people are exempt from part of the tax with a status card. Some items are no tax, or a lesser tax.

Also not everything or everyone counts towards the 13% HST - some items and people pay a lower tax so that may be why but I digress

Unfortunately, we are like the US in that regard. Unless the price specifically states that tax is included, it is not a part of the display price. I agree it would make things a lot easier, but I don't have a say in that haha

There's a 13% tax in Ontario - having prices like that makes the final total come up to $5.85 and $6.80 respectively. We also don't have pennies so it keeps the establishment from having to round up or down to the nearest $0.05 for people paying cash.

The badge is her, in a Toronto trash can with a Canadian flag hanging from it, holding a Timmies cup and a hockey stick, menacingly shouting "EH!"

Oh I'm sure he has - drug use and related issues are pretty strong in the family as far as I know. I've never voted for the guy, but he keeps sticking around

Gonna guess: giraffe, olm, quail, angler fish, pangolin and the only one that's throwing me off is the foxish one - kit fox or rüppell's fox maybe?

It's a double entendre. The Canadian dairy industry is very highly lobbied so American dairy is hard to come by here. It's saying that the product is made with Canadian milk, and playing off the term 'American cheese'.

Same here - I've never been because I know I wouldn't enjoy it. Different things for different people. Even furry club-style nights are too much for me, but many people like them a lot.
