I know an ee student and they have been called in twice this term for an unscheduled viva - I don’t know the reason but my suspicion is they are trying to deal with this sort of cheating and viva is their only tool.

Surely banning copilot will just lead them to conceal they used copilot?
Obvious strategy is to create a sockpuppet GitHub repo and profile to cite as the source.
