I really don't know? So many alt-right types have no trouble being disingenuous, it's hard to tell. "The only moral abortion is my abortion" comes to mind. Cognitive Dissonance turned up to 11.

It seems like rigid conservatives view evil as external, a noun thing. Something to keep out. I.e. Magical thinking. Evil is an adj. that describes increased suffering.

A fairly competitive "free market" is supposed to serve as a check to these practices. Somebody else will offer better services.
Except when choices are few, barrier to entry is insurmountable, & giant fund managers like Black Rock proxy vote $quadrillions in shares of every brand we interact with.
