If you know, you know.

Hi @jessiegender.bsky.social, dunno if you'll see this, but I really enjoyed your recent enormous Andor video. The density and length while being critical was really well done, an excellent watch :)

I am not religious but "render unto Caesar" is a teaching I think a lot about these days. The way I was taught it, it's about the practice of personal moral/spiritual boundaries with the oppressive state. Which is really an incredibly necessary practice. And a subversive one, frankly

I should have known the mainstream Hot 100 would suck in 2025 the second they let 'Born Again' by LISA, RAYE, and Doja Cat fail.

Hey y'all, I had the pleasure of joining @alinaisyou.bsky.social and @shadowtodd.bsky.social on Song vs. Song to talk about 'Old Town Road' by Lil Nas X vs 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' by Shaboozey. This one took a lot of turns - enjoy! open.spotify.com/episode/3veI...

This wound up a bit longer than expected, but it's well-deserved. I review the great new album from James McMurtry, which would be among the best of 2025 but for one thing... My review of 'The Black Dog and the Wandering Child' - enjoy! youtu.be/ubTAy3zYmAY

God, this is one of his best in a long time. Thankful I was able to do a lot of the work he describes on my own after some of my own rough experiences (and be engaged to my wonderful fiancé today). Highly recommended read.

Let's get this over with. I review the newest album from Benson Boone, 'American Heart' - enjoy! youtu.be/2AG2pavx8LM

Think the James McMurtry album has finally swung around on me. The production is... a choice, but when you have one of the best working songwriters today churning out material this strong, it was a matter of time. It'll absolutely work live too, and you can tell to him, that's what matters.

I missed covering Hotline TNT in 2023 - let's correct for that, shall we? My short review of 'Raspberry Moon' - enjoy! youtube.com/shorts/xzbK4...

...yeah, surely this'll go well. I (finally) review the new album from Jane Remover, 'RevengeSeekerz' - enjoy! youtu.be/wMSpSvOoSzI

Alright, we're (finally) live with a relatively routine episode of Billboard BREAKDOWN, but some of the stuff below the surface... I have concerns. Enjoy! youtu.be/3Ue0s40N9Oc

Judging by the results tonight, this looks to be a winning issue for the Democrats. Maybe they should have the courage to add it to their platform nationwide.

uh oh feeling that horrible "hope" other people have once described

Hey y'all, something IRL is happening tonight that requires my attention, which means that despite having Billboard BREAKDOWN rendering now, it'll be live tomorrow morning. It is what it is.

Alright, about time I get into this: I review the newest album from Yugen Blakrok, 'The Illusion of Being' - enjoy! #hiphop youtu.be/WRqYAtHWhYI

Remember a couple days ago when I said I wanted a new Hot Country Knights album? Well, this is why - my review of 'Broken Branches' by Dierks Bentley, enjoy! youtube.com/shorts/we_3l...

Obvious ragebait from Colin Cowherd aside (and as a Raptors fan so my own biases are plain here), here's my ranking as someone thinking of the runs holistically: 1. 2019 Raptors 2. 2021 Bucks 3. 2025 Thunder 4. 2023 Nuggets 5. 2024 Celtics 6. 2020 Lakers 7. 2022 Warriors

Yes, I'm going to review Benson Boone. Probably today. I have things to say. Sigh.

morgan wallen literally starred in a drake music video over a year ago, is it really such big outrageous news for them to appear at a concert together

...yeah, surely this'll go well. I (finally) review the new album from Jane Remover, 'RevengeSeekerz' - enjoy! youtu.be/wMSpSvOoSzI

Exactly. People like JD NEED you to quote-dunk to disseminate their trash. And when you do that, you're not getting off a sweet burn; you're being his volunteer street team. Good on everyone for seeing through the bullshit. We know their playbook by now, and oughta act like it.

...oh what the hell, I think I'll finally review Jane Remover today.

Feels apropos that today is when I finally got to this new album from @flummoxband.bsky.social - if you're looking for leftist and very queer (specifically trans) rage out of the south, this will be right up your alley. My short review of 'Southern Progress' - enjoy! youtube.com/shorts/yuzE5...

Ugh, this was... a messy episode of Billboard BREAKDOWN - everyone from Lil Wayne to Mariah Carey, Ed Sheeran to Sabrina Carpenter - enjoy! youtu.be/W2YBc2CjruQ

...I mean, there's a limit to what one can say about King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard this many albums in, but the new project is pretty good? My review of 'Phantom Island' - enjoy! youtu.be/tyNaunn1qK0

trans people will always exist (laudatory) trans people will always exist (threatening) trans people will always exist (factual)

I think the biggest influence Billboard BREAKDOWN has from its Olbermann-esque didacticism is that I'm absolutely going on a tangent about how stupidly binary and moralistic the discourse on the new Sabrina Carpenter album art is. Yes, I'm fully aware how fucking insane the previous sentence looks.

Genuinely curious if Clipse gets an album bomb. I think it's possible IF Roc Nation plays their marketing and promo cards right. Big 'IF' there in my opinion.

altnps being the 11th most followed account on here is one of the worst things anyone has said about bluesky

About time I got to this: I review the newest album from Little Simz, "Lotus" - imo, her best in years, enjoy! youtu.be/uYhS6j52-rE?...

Alright, Turnstile is back... and as someone who loved 'GLOW ON', I have thoughts on this one. My review of 'NEVER ENOUGH' - enjoy! youtu.be/RxLvlxcONEM

What's frustrating assembling a midyear list in 2025? Ordering my favourite rap albums is a goddamn nightmare. billy woods? Aesop Rock? Backxwash? McKinley Dixon? Saba? Little Simz? clipping.? I still need to get to Yugen Blakrok and Premrock but they're contenders too? WHEW.

The reason lots of journalist and celebrities are losing their minds about Bluesky is most of them have forgotten how to act like people.
