You forgot the mass firing of government workers that will both add to unemployment figures and job competition, and make it harder for people to access essential government services (like unemployment benefits). Another of his promises, that are supposedly good?????

The PTV app of about 10 years ago was much more usable and accurate than the current one.

Actually the few times I looked at Threads I didn’t understand it at all. They were just random things that would pop up on Facebook and if you wanted to understand the context it was a pain. Couldn’t be bothered continuing.

That’s a sad state of affairs.

Why do you need it? If they want to use it, they can?

It seemed to work for Trump. He thinks it will here too.

Climate change is factual, it’s global warming that some people fail to comprehend.

Bloody Clive can put that rubbish wherever he likes because money talks. Hopefully it won’t sway anyone though.

The global shift to choosing whole groups of people to hate. It’s taking root and we’re heading towards hell. We do not seem to learn.

What happened to the human right of being able to go to the toilet when needed? Fewer public maintained toilets available too. There used to be a card people could carry to say they urgently needed to be allowed to use the toilet - eg IBS sufferers). That’s going to be needed.

I have always believed the internet was a great way of ensuring everyone everywhere has access to what is really going on, but I see now that we are being more and more manipulated. Particularly with the rise of bots, there is no true neutral space of truth, it’s all skewed.

I am just gobsmacked at how money is at the root of elections there. If they tried that here I really hope people would not be swayed. Does not match up with the US belief that anyone can make it if they work hard - oh, you also need to be/become rich.

Wanted to get away from the toxicity but I’m not finding a lot of relevant stuff yet, as people are slow to move across. I appreciate the idea of freedom of expression but not when it’s full of lies, written by bots or actively hurtful and there is no way to report/ban fake users.

I thought the Night Bus didn’t operate any more? It doesn’t seem to go out to Greensborough any longer. I remember using it years ago but like so many services, it was pulled back.

But of course it doesn’t mean you can’t get one. They still end up in the wrong hands, but far less so.

Here in Australia it seems poorly trained AI provides many subtitles on tv shows, with ramblings and nonsensical text that would make it difficult to follow as intended. Seems like it needs a person but they cost too much. Such an important accessibility feature that is often overlooked.

I’m a bit concerned that legitimate celebrities and public figures won’t be able to take the most obvious username as someone grabs it first, and people will just assume someone to be genuine and follow them, inflating their numbers and further making them seem genuine.

I don’t actually think it is fair to make the CEO resign. To what extent was she involved with the errors in the first place?

This is one of the problems I'm noticing - how do we know if someone is genuinely who they say, or if they just managed to grab the name first?

At night in Rosalind Park, the trees are filled with bats. Every time there are fireworks you see them flying away.
