A) I am wishing you luck in travelling!! And b) where can a person get an "easily distracted by snails" shirt ... asking for a friend 👀

There's a novelisation??? I must seek this out at once. I don't blame you for blocking the rest of the movie out, it's truly atrocious (and yet I couldn't stop laughing all the way through 😂)

Does the terrible/awesome movie "Ice Crawlers" count?

Also I don't think I ever got good pics of the octopus I already HAVE bc it turns out it's bloody hard to photograph your own scapula plus all the tentacles run down and under my arm

I see that they sometimes lose their leggies in getting in and out of new host bivalves, that's dedication to the manwhore lifestyle

Both species of nz bivalve i know called "cockle": tuangi/littleneck/rainbow cockle (Austrovenus stutchburyi) and purple cockle (Purpurocardia purpurata) are infauna, not epifauna - but some cool NZ epifaunal clams are Talochlamys gemmulata, Perna canalicus, and the iconic Ostrea chilensis!

If I win the lottery I WILL fund this sampling voyage!! Do you know if they will use any bivalve or if they have a preference?

“Just debating” and “just asking questions” are not ethically neutral in the face of genocidal fascism.
Especially when you do it to our face

Like not to be a huge grinch but I don't have spare time? My own contracted 1 day a week's research is now crunched bc 60% of my total time has to go to collections move prep. I don't mind helping a student but at the same time why aren't YOU helping your student?

Pinnids are pretty unique in producing enough byssus to turn into sea silk, though - that's special to them 🥰
