Impossible to overstate how unhinged this all is. They're spending an incredible amount of time, effort, and legislation to persecute a relatively small community in the name of "safety," but the people they're persecuting are statistically most often victims rather than perpetrators of crime.

I get really irked when I see people post “indies will save us” or “the laid off devs should go indie” THERE IS NO MONEY publishers are cancelling contracts, angel investors/venture capital don’t want small returns. I often make 64x64px #pixelart games, just to see what's possible at such a small resolution. This is a concept for a dungeon crawler, in 4 colors. Did you know, you only need 3 colors to render a 3D shape? Yeah. That's why the 4 shades of the Game Boy are enough.

I actually do think an AI model could observe and replicate game logic, and that might even be a useful tool for development! But this is like saying a photocopy of a painting is "preservation." It's misleading and an insult to the thankless work we archivists do. I'm offended and sickened by this.

Playing the PSP remaster of Ys I, a game I beat on the Master System as a kid. It's an interesting case where the remaster is quite faithful to the core of the game, but with a big visual upgrade. But those new visuals are actually increasing my frustration with some of its old school design.

Still bummed that we're finally getting a new Mado Monogatari and it ended up being just so incredibly generic looking. The originals are such charming, weird little dungeon crawlers! Also being a roguelite, shouldn't it be "Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon 2" or something, and not a mainline game?
