Elon doesn’t do long cons. He does short cons, one after another after another. About the length of a Tweet.

“Some have even taken to reporting the problem to the federal traffic safety authority NHTSA” - which will be next on Musk’s list for abolition, I’m sure

Getting “off” gas, from the context.

That was an absolute disgrace, exacerbated by the slow progress of justice for this outrage www.abc.net.au/news/2023-04...

I simultaneously love and hate this picture. Love it, because it makes the huge disparity so clear. Hate it, because the two cycling kids are so vulnerable.

When I was 15 my boyfriend and his friends used to say “what’s the score?” When asked what it meant one explained impatiently “you know - what’s the Hampden roar?” www.scotsman.com/sport/footba...

Reminds me of the time a mob attacked a paediatrician’s house in the uk because they thought a paedophile lived there. Colossal, unfettered stupidity causing real harm.

“Hit by car”. No, hit by a driver! Heartbreaking.

Particularly so given that most thoughtful commentators are characterising the whole debacle as a set-up. Nothing Zelenskyy could have done would have made any difference. Do better, @theguardian.com

That was an astonishingly pathetic and inaccurate headline, to be sure. And the article was no better.

Pumped up the tires and cleaned it up a little as it was covered in cobwebs (you don’t want to find a redback spider crawling across the handlebars as you speed down the bike path) and the handbrake needs replacing but otherwise it’s rideable.

Yes - it’s got an internal hub and coaster brakes. Takes some getting used to but the coaster brakes stop it dead.

It was put out by a neighbour in what we call “hard rubbish” (a pile of junk that the council comes to collect).

I think it needs a wicker basket, to stow my baguette, bottle of Prosecco and bunch of flowers.

It’s an incredibly fun bike to ride! It makes me feel like I’m a 16 year old roller skater blowing bubblegum and scandalising the neighbours.
